A new form of axonal pathology in a spinal model of neuromyelitis optica

TL;DR: A distinct form of immune-mediated axon pathology in neuromyelitis optica is revealed that mechanistically differs from known cascades of post-traumatic and inflammatory axon loss, and a new strategy for neuroprotection is suggested.

Analysing options for the Red Gum Forests along the Murray River

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors apply the results of an earlier choice modelling exercise to estimate the non-use values of the forests of the Murray River Valley in Victoria and conclude that the use of water for environmental flows is competitive with its use for irrigation.
Posted ContentDOI

Willingness to pay for kerbside recycling the Brisbane Region

TL;DR: The authors used mixed logit choice modelling to estimate the willingness to pay of households in Brisbane, Australia for kerbside waste collection services including kerbsideside recycling, and found that households in Queensland have a positive and significant willingness to PAY of $131.49 per annum for fortnightly kerbsided recycling and would be willing to pay an additional $18.30 to increase the frequency of this service to weekly.
Journal ArticleDOI

Smallholding size, irrigation infrastructure, and the efficiency of coffee production in Vietnam revisited

TL;DR: The authors revisited the relationship between smallholding size, irrigation infrastructure, and the productive efficiency of coffee smallholders in Dak Lak, Viet Nam, previously examined in Forests, Trees and Livelihoods by Rios and Shivley (2006) (RS).
Journal ArticleDOI

A benefit-cost comparison of varying scales and methods of coral reef restoration in the Philippines

TL;DR: In this paper, the economic efficiencies of four coral reef investments are compared - at two different scales (local and national) and two different technologies ('coral gardening' and'mass larval enhancement').
