Associations of in Utero Exposure to Perfluorinated Alkyl Acids with Human Semen Quality and Reproductive Hormones in Adult Men
Anne Vested,Cecilia Høst Ramlau-Hansen,Sjurdur F. Olsen,Jens Peter Bonde,Susanne Lund Kristensen,Thorhallur I. Halldorsson,Georg Becher,Line Småstuen Haug,Emil Hagen Ernst,Gunnar Toft +9 more
TL;DR: In utero exposure to PFOA may affect adult human male semen quality and reproductive hormone levels, and Multivariable linear regression analysis suggested that in utero exposed men may have lower adjusted sperm concentration and total sperm count and with higher adjusted levels of luteinizing hormone.
Journal ArticleDOI
Prenatal Phthalate, Perfluoroalkyl Acid, and Organochlorine Exposures and Term Birth Weight in Three Birth Cohorts : Multi-Pollutant Models Based on Elastic Net Regression
Virissa Lenters,Lützen Portengen,Anna Rignell-Hydbom,Bo Jönsson,Christian H. Lindh,Aldert H. Piersma,Gunnar Toft,Jens Peter Bonde,Dick Heederik,Lars Rylander,Roel Vermeulen +10 more
TL;DR: This study suggests that several of the environmental contaminants, belonging to three chemical classes, may be independently associated with impaired fetal growth, and warrants follow-up in other cohorts.
Journal ArticleDOI
The influence of occupational exposure on male reproductive function.
TL;DR: The evidence for an adverse effect on male reproduction of several occupational and environmental exposures and toxicants, such as heat, ionizing radiation, inorganic lead, dibromochloropropane, ethyleneDibromide, some ethylene glycol ethers, carbon disulfide and welding operations, is strongly supported in well-designed epidemiological studies.
Journal ArticleDOI
Does smoking during pregnancy affect sons' sperm counts?
Lone Storgaard,Jens Peter Bonde,Erik Ernst,Marcello Spanò,Claus Yding Andersen,Morten Frydenberg,Jørn Olsen +6 more
TL;DR: High levels of smoking (>10 cigarettes per day) during pregnancy may be a partial explanation for the apparent secular decline and the geographic differences in sperm counts.
Journal ArticleDOI
Risk of affective and stress related disorders among employees in human service professions
TL;DR: There was a consistent association between employment in human service occupations and the risk of affective and stress related disorders and gender was a significant modifying factor with the highest risk levels in men.
