FASTTRACK : The perindopril in elderly people with chronic heart failure (PEP-CHF) study
John J.V. McMurray,John G.F. Cleland,Michal Tendera,Jerzy Adamus,Nick Freemantle,Lech Poloński,Jacqueline Taylor +6 more
TL;DR: Uncertainty remains about the effects of perindopril on long-term morbidity and mortality in this clinical setting since this study had insufficient power for its primary endpoint, but improved symptoms and exercise capacity and fewer hospitalizations for heart failure in the first year were observed on perindobril.
Journal ArticleDOI
Facilitated PCI in patients with ST-elevation myocardial infarction.
Stephen G. Ellis,Michal Tendera,Mark A. de Belder,Ad J. van Boven,Petr Widimsky,Luc Janssens,H. R. Andersen,Amadeo Betriu,Stefano Savonitto,Jerzy Adamus,Jan Z. Peruga,Maciej Kosmider,Olivier Katz,Thomas Neunteufl,Julia Jorgova,Maria Dorobantu,Liliana Grinfeld,Paul W. Armstrong,Bruce R. Brodie,Howard C. Herrmann,Gilles Montalescot,Franz-Josef Neumann,Mark B. Effron,Elliot S. Barnathan,Eric J. Topol +24 more
TL;DR: Neither facilitation of PCI with reteplase plus abcximab nor facilitation with abciximab alone significantly improved the clinical outcomes, as compared with ab ciximabs given at the time of PCI, in patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction.
Journal ArticleDOI
Inefficacy of Immediate Node Dissection in Stage 1 Melanoma of the Limbs
Umberto Veronesi,Jerzy Adamus,D. C. Bandiera,I. O. Brennhovd,E. Caceres,Natale Cascinelli,F. Claudio,R. L. Ikonopisov,V. V. Javorskj,S. Kirov,A. Kulakowski,Lacoub J,Ferdy J. Lejeune,Z. Mechl,Alberto Morabito,I. Rodé,S. Sergeev,van Slooten E,Szcygiel K,N. N. Trapeznikov +19 more
TL;DR: Elective lymph-node dissection in malignant malanoma of the limbs does not improve the prognosis and is not recommended when patients can be followed at intervals of three months.
Journal ArticleDOI
Thin Stage I Primary Cutaneous Malignant Melanoma
Umberto Veronesi,Natale Cascinelli,Jerzy Adamus,Jerzy Adamus,Charles M. Balch,Dino Bandiera,A. Barchuk,Rosaria Bufalino,Peter Craig,Jaime de Marsillac,J. Durand,A. N. Van Geel,Hans Holmstrom,Ole G. Jorgensen,Bela Kiss,B. B. R. Kroon,E. A. van Slooten,Jean Lacour,Ferdy J. Lejeune,Rona M. MacKie,Zdenek Mechl,G. Mitrov,Alberto Morabito,Henryk Nosek,R. Panizzon,M. Prade,Pierluigi Santi,Radmilo Tomin,Nikolaj Trapeznikov,Tsanko Tsanov,Marshall M. Urist,K. D. Wozniak +31 more
TL;DR: The absence ofLocal recurrence in the group of patients with a primary melanoma thinner than 1 mm and the very low rate of local recurrences indicate that narrow excision is a safe and effective procedure for such patients.
Journal ArticleDOI
Delayed regional lymph node dissection in stage I melanoma of the skin of the lower extremities
Umberto Veronesi,Jerzy Adamus,D. C. Bandiera,I. O. Brennhovd,Eduardo Caceres,Natale Cascinelli,F. Claudio,R. L. Ikonopisov,V. V. Javorski,S. Kirov,A. Kulakowski,Jean Lacour,Ferdinand Lejeune,Z. Mechl,Alberto Morabito,I. Rodé,S. Sergeev,E. van Slooten,K. Szczygiel,N. N. Trapeznikov,R. I. Wagner +20 more
TL;DR: The authors conclude that delayed node dissection is as effective as the immediate dissection in Stage I melanoma of the extremities if the patient can be checked every three months and if the quarterly follow‐up is not guaranteed.
