Journal ArticleDOI

Three-dimensional hierarchical plasmonic nano-architecture enhanced surface-enhanced Raman scattering immunosensor for cancer biomarker detection in blood plasma.

TL;DR: A three-dimensional (3D) hierarchical plasmonic nano-architecture has been designed for a sensitive surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) immunosensor for protein biomarker detection that has been successfully used for detection of the vascular endothelial growth factor in the human blood plasma from clinical breast cancer patient samples.
Journal ArticleDOI

Engineering the Absorption and Field Enhancement Properties of Au-TiO2 Nanohybrids via Whispering Gallery Mode Resonances for Photocatalytic Water Splitting

TL;DR: Using numerical simulations, it is demonstrated that, by solely exploiting a proper geometrical arrangement and WGM resonances in a TiO2 sphere, the plasmonic absorption can be extended over the entire visible range and can be increased by more than 40 times.
Journal ArticleDOI

Gold nanoparticle decorated ceria nanotubes with significantly high catalytic activity for the reduction of nitrophenol and mechanism study

TL;DR: In this article, a new nanostructured catalyst, made of small uniform gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) and ceria nanotubes (CeO2NTs), is presented.
Journal ArticleDOI

Highly active PtAu alloy nanoparticle catalysts for the reduction of 4-nitrophenol

TL;DR: A "volcano-like" catalytic activity dependence of the alloy NPs on their chemical composition suggests a strong synergistic effect between Au and Pt in the 4-NP reduction, far beyond the simple sum of their individual contributions.
