A Survey on Platoon-Based Vehicular Cyber-Physical Systems

TL;DR: The fundamental issues in a platoon-based VCPS are discussed, including vehicle platooning/clustering, cooperative adaptive cruise control, platoon- based vehicular communications, etc., all of which are characterized by the tightly coupled relationship between traffic dynamics and VANET behaviors.
Journal ArticleDOI

News impact on stock price return via sentiment analysis

TL;DR: Results show that at individual stock, sector and index levels, the models with sentiment analysis outperform the bag-of-words model in both validation set and independent testing set, and the models which use sentiment polarity cannot provide useful predictions.
Journal ArticleDOI

On Swarm Intelligence Inspired Self-Organized Networking: Its Bionic Mechanisms, Designing Principles and Optimization Approaches

TL;DR: This paper surveys different aspects of bio-inspired mechanisms and examines various algorithms that have been applied to artificial SON systems and discusses advantages, drawbacks, and further design challenges of variant algorithms.
Journal ArticleDOI

Self-organization paradigms and optimization approaches for cognitive radio technologies: a survey

TL;DR: In this article, a survey of cognitive radio functionalities with self-organization features is presented, including critical functionalities of MAC and network-layer operations, including common control channel management, cooperative spectrum sensing, bioinspired spectrum sharing, network scalability and adaptive routing.
Journal ArticleDOI

Applying VLC in 5G Networks: Architectures and Key Technologies

TL;DR: A heterogeneous multi-layer 5G cellular architecture with a control plane and user plane separation scheme is presented and several key technologies employed in VLC downlink communications, including modulation, multiple access, and error control schemes are discussed.
