Journal ArticleDOI
Dissolution Chemistry and Biocompatibility of Single-Crystalline Silicon Nanomembranes and Associated Materials for Transient Electronics
Suk Won Hwang,Gayoung Park,Chris Edwards,Elise A. Corbin,Seung-Kyun Kang,Huanyu Cheng,Jun-Kyul Song,Jae Hwan Kim,Sooyoun Yu,Joanne Ng,Jung Eun Lee,Jiyoung Kim,Cassian Yee,Basanta Bhaduri,Fiorenzo G. Omennetto,Fiorenzo G. Omennetto,Yonggang Huang,Rashid Bashir,Lynford L. Goddard,Gabriel Popescu,Kyung Mi Lee,John A. Rogers +21 more
TL;DR: In vitro and in vivo investigations of Si NMs and other transient electronic materials demonstrate biocompatibility and bioresorption, thereby suggesting potential for envisioned applications in active, biodegradable electronic implants.
Journal ArticleDOI
API5 Confers Tumoral Immune Escape through FGF2- Dependent Cell Survival Pathway
Kyung Hee Noh,Seok Ho Kim,Seok Ho Kim,Jin Hee Kim,Kwon Ho Song,Young Ho Lee,Tae Heung Kang,Hee Dong Han,Anil K. Sood,Joanne Ng,Kwanghee Kim,Chung Hee Sonn,Vinay Kumar,Cassian Yee,Kyung Mi Lee,Tae Woo Kim +15 more
TL;DR: This study shows that the antiapoptotic gene API5 acts as an immune escape gene in tumors by rendering them resistant to apoptosis triggered by tumor antigen-specific T cells, and identifies a novel mechanism of immune escape that can be inhibited to potentiate the efficacy of targeted active immunotherapies.
Journal ArticleDOI
Impact of chronicity of injury on the proportion of mesenchymal stromal cells derived from anterior cruciate ligaments.
TL;DR: The proportion of freshly isolated MSCs was higher in samples from patients with (sub)acute tearing than in chronic ACL tearing and negatively correlated with the time interval between trauma and surgery.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effect of Donor Age on the Proportion of Mesenchymal Stem Cells Derived from Anterior Cruciate Ligaments
TL;DR: The proportion of freshly isolated ACL-MSC was higher in elderly TKA patients than in younger patients with ACL tears, but their phenotypic and multilineage potential were comparable.
Journal ArticleDOI
NKG2D ligation relieves 2B4-mediated NK-cell self-tolerance in mice
Jung Eun Lee,Seon Ah Lim,Tae Jin Kim,Tae Jin Kim,Kwanghee Kim,Joanne Ng,Yong Ho Kim,In Jung Jang,Seog Bae Oh,June Chul Lee,Cassian Yee,Vinay Kumar,Kyung Mi Lee +12 more
TL;DR: The data highlight the importance of the 2B4‐mediated inhibitory system as an alternate self‐tolerance mechanism, whose role can be modulated by the strength of activating receptor signaling within the tumor microenvironment.
