Journal ArticleDOI
Cold sintering zinc oxide with a crystalline zinc acetate dihydrate mass transport phase
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors examined cold sintering of ZnO using crystalline zinc acetate dihydrate in the absence of added water and showed equivalent densification with solid, powdered acetate as compared to previously mentioned aqueous-based transport phases.
Journal ArticleDOI
Mid-wave to near-IR optoelectronic properties and epsilon-near-zero behavior in indium-doped cadmium oxide
Angela Cleri,John A. Tomko,Kathleen F. Quiambao-Tomko,Mario V. Imperatore,Yanglin Zhu,J. Ryan Nolen,Joshua Nordlander,Joshua D. Caldwell,Zhiqiang Mao,Noel C. Giebink,Kyle P. Kelley,Evan L. Runnerstrom,Patrick E. Hopkins,Jon Paul Maria +13 more
TL;DR: In this paper, an indium-doped cadmium oxide (CdO) thin film with carrier concentrations ranging from $2.3 to $4.4 was used to measure optical bandgap, revealing a Burstein-Moss shift of 0.58 eV.
Journal ArticleDOI
Overcoming the polarization catastrophe in the rocksalt oxides MgO and CaO
TL;DR: In this paper, the formation energies, charge distribution, and electronic structure of a number of low-index surfaces of rocksalt MgO and CaO were investigated both in their bare, undecorated form as well as with surface reconstructions and adsorbed foreign species.
Proceedings ArticleDOI
Narrowband Barium Strontium Titanate (BST) tunable bandpass filters at X-band
Zhiping Feng,Wael M. Fathelbab,Peter G. Lam,Vrinda Haridasan,Jon Paul Maria,Angus I. Kingon,Michael B. Steer +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a 3rd-order combline tunable filter with very narrow bandwidth at X-band is implemented utilizing ferroelectric Barium Strontium Titanate (BST) interdigitated varactors.
Journal ArticleDOI
Reproducibility and ferroelectric fatigue of lead zirconate titanate thin films deposited directly on copper via a composite gel architecture
Mark D. Losego,Jon Paul Maria +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, the reliability of composite gel architecture for synthesizing PZT thin films directly on copper foils is explored, and reproducibility in film properties and avoidance of solution aging effects are demonstrated.
