Journal ArticleDOI
Novel molecular profiles of endometrial cancer-new light through old windows.
Andreas Doll,Miguel Abal,Marina Rigau,Marta Monge,M. Gonzalez,Santiago Demajo,Eva Colas,Marta Llauradó,H. Alazzouzi,J. Planagumá,M.A. Lohmann,J. Garcia,S. Castellvi,J. Ramon y Cajal,Antonio Gil-Moreno,Jordi Xercavins,F. Alameda,J. Reventós +17 more
TL;DR: Despite the great effort made to establish a molecularly-based histological classification, the following issues must still be clarified: what triggers the tumor cells to invade the myometrium and what causes vascular or lymphatic dissemination, finally culminating in metastasis?
Journal ArticleDOI
Germ line polymorphisms in cytochrome-P450 1A1 (C4887 CYP1A1) and methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase (MTHFR) genes and endometrial cancer susceptibility
TL;DR: It is suggested that polymorphisms at MTHFR and a novel CYP1A1 variant could influence susceptibility to endometrial cancer, although larger sample sizes would be required to corroborate these findings.
Journal ArticleDOI
Molecular markers of endometrial carcinoma detected in uterine aspirates.
Eva Colas,Cristina Perez,Silvia Cabrera,Nuria Pedrola,Marta Monge,Josep Castellví,Fernando Eyzaguirre,Jesus Gregorio,Anna Ruiz,Marta Llauradó,Marina Rigau,Marta Garcia,Tugce Ertekin,Melania Montes,Rafael López-López,Ramon Carreras,Jordi Xercavins,Jordi Xercavins,Alicia Ortega,Tamara Maes,Elisabet Rosell,Andreas Doll,Miguel Abal,Jaume Reventós,Jaume Reventós,Antonio Gil-Moreno,Antonio Gil-Moreno +26 more
TL;DR: The discovery of molecular biomarkers of EC are presented and their utility in uterine aspirates is described and represents the basis for the development of a highly sensitive and specific minimally invasive method for screening ECs.
Journal ArticleDOI
Intraoperative sentinel node identification in early stage cervical cancer using a combination of radiolabeled albumin injection and isosulfan blue dye injection
José M. Martínez-Palones,Antonio Gil-Moreno,María A. Pérez-Benavente,Isabel Roca,Jordi Xercavins +4 more
TL;DR: Sentinel lymph node identification with technetium-99m-labeled nanocolloid combined with blue dye injection is feasible and showed a 100% negative predictive value, and potentially identified women in whom lymph node dissection can be avoided.
Journal ArticleDOI
The EMT signaling pathways in endometrial carcinoma
Eva Colas,Nuria Pedrola,Laura Devis,Tugce Ertekin,Irene Campoy,Elena Cuartero Martínez,Marta Llauradó,Marina Rigau,Mireia Olivan,Marta Garcia,Silvia Cabrera,Antonio Gil-Moreno,Jordi Xercavins,Josep Castellví,Ángel García,Santiago Ramón y Cajal,Gema Moreno-Bueno,Xavier Dolcet,Francesc Alameda,José Palacios,Jaime Prat,Andreas Doll,Xavier Matias-Guiu,Miguel Abal,Jaume Reventós,Jaume Reventós +25 more
TL;DR: The most common hallmarks of EMT have been found in EC, either at the level of E-cadherin loss or at the induction of its repressors, as well as other molecular alterations consistent with the mesenchymal phenotype-like L1CAM and BMI-1 up-regulation.
