The Brazilian Soil Spectral Library (BSSL): A general view, application and challenges

José Alexandre Melo Demattê, +64 more
- 15 Nov 2019 -
TL;DR: The Brazilian Soil Spectral Library (BSSL) as mentioned in this paper was developed in a joint partnership with the Brazilian pedometrics community to standardize and evaluate spectra within the 350-2500nm range of Brazilian soils.
Journal ArticleDOI

Geomorphology and soils distribution under paraglacial conditions in an ice-free area of Admiralty Bay, King George Island, Antarctica

TL;DR: The main pedological, geomorphological and cryogenic features of Keller Peninsula, part of Admiralty Bay, King George Island, Maritime Antarctica, were mapped and quantified with emphasis on the relationship between the ice retreat process, melt-out, landform development and soil distribution as discussed by the authors.
Journal ArticleDOI

Geochemical signature of Amazon Tropical rainforest soils

TL;DR: In this paper, topsoil samples collected from different locations in minimally disturbed areas in the state of Amazonas, Brazil were used to evaluate soil geochemical diversity in the Amazon Basin.
Journal ArticleDOI

Geochemistry and spatial variability of metal(loid) concentrations in soils of the state of Minas Gerais, Brazil

TL;DR: The objectives of this work are to evaluate the natural concentrations of metal(loid)s in pristine Minas Gerais soils and to interpret the spatial variability in concentration of these elements and to study the spatial geochemical diversity for the state.
Journal ArticleDOI

Reference values of soil quality for the Rio Doce Basin

TL;DR: In this article, reference values of soil quality in the Rio Doce Basin were proposed to predict metal(loid) concentrations in the soil, and the correlation between metal-loid concentrations determined by X-ray fluorescence and by the traditional method was examined.
