Growth, microstructure and sintering behavior of nanosized silicon powders

TL;DR: In this paper, the growth and properties of nanosized silicon particles produced by gas-phase reaction in a low-pressure silane plasma has been studied, and high resolution transmission electron microscopic (HREM) studies confirmed the observations made by Raman spectroscopy that the nanoparticles grow from medium range ordered clusters.
Journal ArticleDOI

Predicting and Enhancing the Ion Selectivity in Multi-Ion Capacitive Deionization

TL;DR: This work has investigated the effect of device operation on the preferential removal of different ionic species in capacitive deionization with multi-ion compositions prevalent in natural water sources and derives a simple relationship between the adsorption of different Ionic species for short and long adsorbent periods to directly predict and enhance the selective ion removal in CDI.

Photocatalytic activities of ZnO nanoparticles synthesized by wet chemical techniques

Ruh Ullah, +1 more
TL;DR: Metal oxide semiconductors with tailored optical absorption characteristics, namely ZnO nanoparticles that are capable of decontaminating water from organic compounds are developed.
