Journal ArticleDOI
Synthesis of hierarchically porous silica aerogel supported Palladium catalyst for low-temperature CO oxidation under ignition/extinction conditions
TL;DR: In this paper, the synthesis of well-dispersed palladium nanoparticles within silica aerogel pores with controlled size was carried out using sol-gel synthesis under supercritical ethanol drying.
Journal ArticleDOI
Heterogeneous photocatalysis for removal of microbes from water
TL;DR: In this article, the authors analyze the major factors that affect the disinfection efficiency using the photocatalytic inactivation of water borne microorganisms and discuss plausible mechanisms of microbial degradation as well as a kinetic model of the inactivation process.
Journal ArticleDOI
Nanotechnology in environmental protection and pollution
Jurgen Schulte,Joydeep Dutta +1 more
TL;DR: Schulte et al. as discussed by the authors presented a survey of the role of nanotechnology in environmental protection and pollution in the field of advanced materials, focusing on three types of nanotechnologies: nano-graphs, nano-composites, and nanophotonics.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effect of a semiconductor dielectric coating on the salt adsorption capacity of a porous electrode in a capacitive deionization cell
TL;DR: In this article, a theoretical model was developed to study the effect of an additional dielectric coating on the conducting electrodes in a capacitive deionization cell and the electric field generated at the electrostatic equilibrium.
Journal ArticleDOI
The effects of ZnO nanostructures of different morphology on bioenergetics and stress response biomarkers of the blue mussels Mytilus edulis
Halina Falfushynska,Halina Falfushynska,Fangli Wu,Fei Ye,Nadiia Kasianchuk,Joydeep Dutta,Sergey Dobretsov,Inna M. Sokolova +7 more
TL;DR: The overall toxicity as well as the pro-apoptotic and pro-inflammatory action was stronger in ZnO NPs compared with the NRs, and ZnNO NR coating might be considered a promising low-toxicity material for antifouling paints.
