TL;DR: In this paper, the kinetics of electrocatalytic reduction of nitrate in perchloric acid were studied with cyclic voltammetry at a very low sweep rate of 1mV s−1, where pseudo-steady state condition was assumed to be achieved at each electrode potential.

Electrochemical and spectroscopic studies of ethanol oxidation on Pt stepped surfaces modified by tin adatoms

TL;DR: The obtained results indicate that the role of tin is double: when the surface has sites capable of breaking the C-C bond of the molecule, that is, when the step sites are not completely covered by tin, it promotes the oxidation of CO formed from the molecular fragments to CO(2) through a bifunctional mechanism.

Determination of (111) ordered domains on platinum electrodes by irreversible adsorption of bismuth.

TL;DR: The good linear relationship obtained between the charge for the bismuth redox process and the number of terrace sites on the vicinal surfaces allows construction of a calibration curve, which has been used to directly estimate the amount of (111) ordered domain terrace Sites on polycrystalline platinum samples with different surface ordered domains.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors reproduce the hydrogen adsorption behavior of electrochemically activated polycrystalline platinum electrodes by using a kinked platinum single crystal surface subjected only to flame cleaning before checking hydrogen electrosorption at its surface.
