Journal ArticleDOI
Ubiquitin-proteasome system impairment caused by a missense cardiac myosin-binding protein C mutation and associated with cardiac dysfunction in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.
Udin Bahrudin,Hiroko Morisaki,Takayuki Morisaki,Haruaki Ninomiya,Katsumi Higaki,Eiji Nanba,Osamu Igawa,Seiji Takashima,Einosuke Mizuta,Junichiro Miake,Yasutaka Yamamoto,Yasuaki Shirayoshi,Masafumi Kitakaze,Lucie Carrier,Ichiro Hisatome +14 more
TL;DR: The conclusion is the missense MYBPC3 mutation E334K destabilizes its protein through UPS and may contribute to cardiac dysfunction in HCM through impairment of the ubiquitin-proteasome system.
Journal ArticleDOI
Mechanism of Iodide/Chloride Exchange by Pendrin
Akio Yoshida,Ichiro Hisatome,Shin-ichi Taniguchi,Norihiro Sasaki,Yasutaka Yamamoto,Junichiro Miake,Hiroko Fukui,Hideki Shimizu,Tomohisa Okamura,Tsuyoshi Okura,Osamu Igawa,Chiaki Shigemasa,Eric D. Green,Leonard D. Kohn,Koichi Suzuki +14 more
TL;DR: It is supported that pendrin is responsible for the iodide efflux in thyroid cells where intracellular iodide concentration is high and that the general function of pendrin in other tissues is to transport chloride through exchange with other anions.
Journal ArticleDOI
Reciprocal Control of hERG Stability by Hsp70 and Hsc70 With Implication for Restoration of LQT2 Mutant Stability
Peili Li,Haruaki Ninomiya,Yasutaka Kurata,Masaru Kato,Junichiro Miake,Yasutaka Yamamoto,Osamu Igawa,Akira Nakai,Katsumi Higaki,Futoshi Toyoda,Jie Wu,Minoru Horie,Hiroshi Matsuura,Akio Yoshida,Yasuaki Shirayoshi,Masayasu Hiraoka,Ichiro Hisatome +16 more
TL;DR: Results indicate reciprocal control of hERG stability by Hsp70 and Hsc70, a potential target in the treatment of LQT2 resulting from missense hERG mutations.
Journal ArticleDOI
Evidence for proteasomal degradation of Kv1.5 channel protein.
Masaru Kato,Kazuyoshi Ogura,Junichiro Miake,Norihito Sasaki,Shin-ichi Taniguchi,Osamu Igawa,Akio Yoshida,Yoshiko Hoshikawa,Mitsunobu Murata,Eiji Nanba,Yasutaka Kurata,Yasushi Kawata,Haruaki Ninomiya,Takayuki Morisaki,Masafumi Kitakaze,Ichiro Hisatome +15 more
TL;DR: Kv1.5 is degraded by the proteasome and the inhibition of the prote asome increased Ik(ur) currents secondary to stabilization of the channel protein in the endoplasmic reticulum/Golgi apparatus.
Journal ArticleDOI
Age-related BM-MNC dysfunction hampers neovascularization
Shinobu Sugihara,Yasutaka Yamamoto,Takashi Matsuura,Genta Narazaki,Akira Yamasaki,Go Igawa,Koichi Matsubara,Junichiro Miake,Osamu Igawa,Chiaki Shigemasa,Ichiro Hisatome +10 more
TL;DR: The results indicate that the neovascularization capacity of transplanted BM-MNCs is impaired with aging, but aging does not hamper the revitalization of neov vascularization in the murine host in response to transplantation of young BM- MNCs.
