Dual Antiplatelet Therapy for 6 Versus 18 Months After Biodegradable Polymer Drug-Eluting Stent Implantation

Masato Nakamura, +136 more
TL;DR: Six months of DAPT was not inferior to 18 months ofDAPT following implantation of a DES with a biodegradable abluminal coating, however, this result needs to be interpreted with caution given the open-label design and wide noninferiority margin of the present study.
Journal ArticleDOI

Qualitative and quantitative changes in coronary plaque associated with atorvastatin therapy

TL;DR: In patients with CAD treated with atorvastatin, serial analysis with angioscopy demonstrated early loss of yellow color in plaques, and IVUS volumetric analysis showed subsequent plaque regression, which possibly indicate reduction of plaque vulnerability in an additive manner.

Morphological effects of coronary balloon angioplasty in vivo assessed by intravascular ultrasound imaging. - eScholarship

TL;DR: Intravascular ultrasound provides a more complete quantitative and qualitative description of plaque geometry and composition than angiography after balloon angioplasty and identifies a subset of atherosclerotic plaque that has a higher incidence of restenosis.
