Interactions of Sequence Variants in Interleukin-1 Receptor–Associated Kinase4 and the Toll-Like Receptor 6-1-10 Gene Cluster Increase Prostate Cancer Risk
Jielin Sun,Fredrik Wiklund,Fredrik Wiklund,Fang-Chi Hsu,Katarina Bälter,S. Lilly Zheng,Jan-Erik Johansson,Baoli Chang,Wennuan Liu,Tao Li,Aubrey R. Turner,Liwu Li,Ge Li,Hans-Olov Adami,William B. Isaacs,Jianfeng Xu,Henrik Grönberg,Henrik Grönberg +17 more
TL;DR: Findings suggest synergistic effects between sequence variants in IRAK4 and the TLR 6-1-10 gene cluster interacts and confers a stronger risk to prostate cancer.
Journal ArticleDOI
Acrylamide exposure measured by food frequency questionnaire and hemoglobin adduct levels and prostate cancer risk in the Cancer of the Prostate in Sweden Study.
Kathryn M. Wilson,Katarina Bälter,Hans-Olov Adami,Hans-Olov Adami,Henrik Grönberg,Anna C. Vikström,Birgit Paulsson,Margareta Törnqvist,Lorelei A. Mucci,Lorelei A. Mucci +9 more
TL;DR: Neither measure of acrylamide exposure—hemoglobin adducts or FFQ—was associated with risk of prostate cancer, and no significant associations were found between acryamide exposure and risk of Prostate cancer by stage, grade, or PSA level.
Journal ArticleDOI
Two new meal- and web-based interactive food frequency questionnaires: validation of energy and macronutrient intake.
Sara E Christensen,Elisabeth Möller,Stephanie E Bonn,Alexander Ploner,Antony Wright,Arvid Sjölander,Olle Bälter,Lauren Lissner,Katarina Bälter +8 more
TL;DR: The ranking agreement is good for most of the nutrients for both questionnaires and Meal-Q shows fair reproducibility, indicating easy to use and have short answering times.
Journal ArticleDOI
Re: Zinc Supplement Use and Risk of Prostate Cancer
Journal ArticleDOI
Short natural sleep is associated with higher T cell and lower NK cell activities
Elinor Fondell,John Axelsson,Kristina Franck,Alexander Ploner,Mats Lekander,Mats Lekander,Katarina Bälter,Hans Gaines +7 more
TL;DR: The results suggest strong relationships between short sleep duration and T- and NK-cell functions and the stability of the findings as well as the clinical consequences of the link between shortSleep and immune function should be explored in future studies.
