Endothelial to mesenchymal transition is common in atherosclerotic lesions and is associated with plaque instability
Solene M. Evrard,Laura Lecce,Katherine C. Michelis,Aya Nomura-Kitabayashi,Gaurav Pandey,K-Raman Purushothaman,Valentina d'Escamard,Jennifer Li,Lahouaria Hadri,Kenji Fujitani,Pedro R. Moreno,Ludovic Benard,Pauline Rimmele,Ariella Cohain,Brigham H. Mecham,Gwendalyn J. Randolph,Elizabeth G. Nabel,Roger J. Hajjar,Valentin Fuster,Valentin Fuster,Manfred Boehm,Jason C. Kovacic +21 more
TL;DR: It is shown that EndMT contributes to atherosclerotic patho-biology and is associated with complex plaques that may be related to clinical events, and the extent of EndMT correlates with an unstable plaque phenotype, which appears driven by altered collagen-MMP production in EndMT-derived cells.
Journal ArticleDOI
Correction: Corrigendum: Endothelial to mesenchymal transition is common in atherosclerotic lesions and is associated with plaque instability
Solene M. Evrard,Laura Lecce,Katherine C. Michelis,Aya Nomura-Kitabayashi,Gaurav Pandey,K-Raman Purushothaman,Valentina d'Escamard,Jennifer Li,Lahouaria Hadri,Kenji Fujitani,Pedro Moreno,Ludovic Benard,Pauline Rimmele,Ariella Cohain,Brigham H. TL;DR: In this Article, the catalogue number for the anti-Fap-Alexa Fluor 647 antibody is listed incorrectly and should have read bs-5758R-A647 instead of b s-5760R- a647.
Journal ArticleDOI
Coronary Artery Manifestations of Fibromuscular Dysplasia
Katherine C. Michelis,Jeffrey W. Olin,Jeffrey W. Olin,Daniella Kadian-Dodov,Valentina d'Escamard,Jason C. Kovacic,Jason C. Kovacic +6 more
TL;DR: The clinical course of FMD involving the coronary arteries is reviewed, guidance for diagnosis and treatment strategies are provided and a conservative approach is generally preferred.
Journal ArticleDOI
A plasma proteogenomic signature for fibromuscular dysplasia.
Jeffrey W. Olin,Antonio Fabio Di Narzo,Valentina d'Escamard,Daniella Kadian-Dodov,Haoxiang Cheng,Adrien Georges,Adrien Georges,Annette King,Allison Thomas,Temo Barwari,Katherine C. Björkegren,Johan L.M. Björkegren,Manuel Mayr,Manuel Mayr,Nabila Bouatia-Naji,Nabila Bouatia-Naji,Ke Hao,Jason C. Kovacic +28 more
TL;DR: FMD patients exhibit a plasma proteogenomic and lipid signature that includes potential causative disease drivers, and which holds promise for developing a blood-based test for this disease.
Journal ArticleDOI
CD90 Identifies Adventitial Mesenchymal Progenitor Cells in Adult Human Medium- and Large-Sized Arteries.
Katherine C. Michelis,Aya Nomura-Kitabayashi,Laura Lecce,Oscar Franzén,Simon Koplev,Yang Xu,Maria Paola Santini,Valentina d'Escamard,Jonathan T.L. Lee,Valentin Fuster,Roger J. Hajjar,Ramachandra C. Reddy,Joanna Chikwe,Joanna Chikwe,Paul Stelzer,Farzan Filsoufi,Allan S. Stewart,Anelechi C. Anyanwu,Johan L.M. Björkegren,Jason C. Kovacic +19 more
TL;DR: P Phenotypic and transcriptomic profiling, as well as adoptive transfer experiments, revealed a potential role in vascular disease pathogenesis, with the transcriptomic disease signature of these cells being represented in an aortic regulatory gene network that is operative in atherosclerosis.
