Journal ArticleDOI
Translocation of SAPK/JNK to Mitochondria and Interaction with Bcl-xL in Response to DNA Damage
Surender Kharbanda,Satya Saxena,Kiyotsugu Yoshida,Pramod Pandey,Masao Kaneki,Qizhi Wang,Keding Cheng,Ying-Nan Chen,Angela L. Campbell,Thangrila Sudha,Zhi-Min Yuan,Jagat Narula,Ralph R. Weichselbaum,Carlo Nalin,Donald Kufe +14 more
TL;DR: Findings indicate that translocation of SAPK to mitochondria is functionally important for interactions with Bcl-xL in the apoptotic response to genotoxic stress.
Journal ArticleDOI
Mitochondrial Translocation of Protein Kinase C δ in Phorbol Ester-induced Cytochrome c Release and Apoptosis
Pradip K. Majumder,Pramod Pandey,Xiangao Sun,Keding Cheng,Rakesh Datta,Satya Saxena,Surender Kharbanda,Donald Kufe +7 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that translocation of PKCδ to mitochondria is responsible, at least in part, for inducing cytochrome crelease and apoptosis.
Journal ArticleDOI
Mass Spectrometric Characterization of Proteins from the SARS Virus A Preliminary Report
Oleg V. Krokhin,Yan Li,Anton Andonov,Heinz Feldmann,Heinz Feldmann,Ramon Flick,Ramon Flick,Steven M. Jones,Ute Stroeher,Ute Stroeher,Nathalie Bastien,Kumar Dasuri,Keding Cheng,J. Neil Simonsen,Hélène Perreault,John T. Wilkins,Werner Ens,Frank Plummer,Kenneth G. Standing +18 more
TL;DR: The results suggest that the nucleocapsid protein is a major immunogen that may be useful for early diagnostics, and that the spike glycoprotein may present a particularly attractive target for prophylactic intervention in combating SARS.
Journal ArticleDOI
The role of angiotensin converting enzyme 2 in the generation of angiotensin 1-7 by rat proximal tubules.
TL;DR: The results indicate that ACE2 is widely expressed in rat nephron segments and contributes to the production of ANG 1-7 from ANG I in PST, which represents an important component of the proximal tubular renin-ANG system.
Journal ArticleDOI
Cerebrospinal fluid real-time quaking-induced conversion is a robust and reliable test for sporadic creutzfeldt–jakob disease: An international study
Lynne McGuire,Anna Poleggi,Ilaria Poggiolini,Silvia Suardi,Katarina Grznarova,Song Shi,Bart De Vil,Shannon Sarros,Katsuya Satoh,Keding Cheng,Maria Cramm,Graham Fairfoul,Matthias Schmitz,Inga Zerr,Patrick Cras,Michele Equestre,Fabrizio Tagliavini,Ryuichiro Atarashi,David Knox,Steven J. Collins,Stéphane Haïk,Piero Parchi,Maurizio Pocchiari,Alison Green +23 more
TL;DR: Two international ring trials were undertaken in which a set of 25 cerebrospinal fluid samples were analyzed by a total of 11 different centers using a range of recombinant prion protein substrates and instrumentation and demonstrate that RT‐QuIC is a suitably reliable and robust technique for clinical practice.
