Journal ArticleDOI

What role for prednisone in prevention of acute graft-versus-host disease in patients undergoing marrow transplants ?

TL;DR: It is concluded that methotrexate/cyclosporine is effective in decreasing the incidence of grade II through IV GVHD, and that the addition of prednisone to this regimen is not beneficial in recipients of HLA-identical marrow grafts.
Journal ArticleDOI

Allogeneic marrow transplantation during untreated first relapse of acute myeloid leukemia.

TL;DR: The results of treatment with regimen 1 justify future studies of the optimal timing of allogeneic BMT in the treatment of patients with AML, despite a significantly higher incidence of acute GVHD.
Journal ArticleDOI

Oral and ophthalmic pathology of graft versus host disease in man: Predictive value of the lip biopsy

TL;DR: The hypothesis that a Sjogren-like lesion involving primarily the oral mucosa and lacrimal and salivary duct epithelium is directly attributable to human graft versus host disease rather than to a nonimmunologic side effect of chemoradiotherapy or infection is strongly supported.
