Journal ArticleDOI

Comparison between seasonal pumped-storage and conventional reservoir dams from the water, energy and land nexus perspective.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors compare the cost, land requirement and social impacts between seasonal pumped storage (SPS) and conventional reservoir dams (CRD) and show that SPS is a valuable water and energy storage alternative especially in locations with plain topography and high evaporation.

Harmonisation of global land-use scenarios for the period 1500–2100 for IPCC-AR5

TL;DR: In this article, a harmonized set of land-use change scenarios that smoothly connect gridded historical reconstructions of landuse with future projections, in a format required by CMs, is presented.
Journal ArticleDOI

Air-pollution emission ranges consistent with the representative concentration pathways

TL;DR: In this article, the authors comprehensively assesses air pollution emissions in the RCPs and provide projections for air pollutants over the 21st century, which should increase understanding of the range of possible impacts of air pollutants on the climate.
