Journal ArticleDOI
Low-dose irradiation programs macrophage differentiation to an iNOS⁺/M1 phenotype that orchestrates effective T cell immunotherapy.
Felix Klug,Hridayesh Prakash,Hridayesh Prakash,Hridayesh Prakash,Peter E. Huber,Tobias Seibel,Noemi Bender,Niels Halama,Christina Pfirschke,Ralf-Holger Voss,Carmen Timke,Ludmila Umansky,Kay Klapproth,Knut Schäkel,Natalio Garbi,Dirk Jäger,Jürgen Weitz,Hubertus Schmitz-Winnenthal,Günter J. Hämmerling,Philipp Beckhove +19 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that neoadjuvant local low-dose gamma irradiation (LDI) causes normalization of aberrant vasculature and efficient recruitment of tumor-specific T cells in human pancreatic carcinomas and T-cell-mediated tumor rejection and prolonged survival in otherwise immune refractory spontaneous and xenotransplant mouse tumor models.
Journal ArticleDOI
Psoriasis Pathogenesis and Treatment.
Adriana Rendon,Knut Schäkel +1 more
TL;DR: The role of genetics, associated epigenetic mechanisms, and the interaction of the skin flora in the pathophysiology of psoriasis is described, which includes a comprehensive review of well-established widely available therapies and novel targeted drugs.
Journal ArticleDOI
The CD16+ (FcγRIII+) subset of human monocytes preferentially becomes migratory dendritic cells in a model tissue setting
TL;DR: It is proposed that CD16+ monocytes may contribute significantly to precursors for DCs that transiently survey tissues and migrate to lymph nodes via afferent lymphatic vessels.
Journal ArticleDOI

TL;DR: A CNN trained by open-source images exclusively outperformed 136 of the 157 dermatologists and all the different levels of experience (from junior to chief physicians) in terms of average specificity and sensitivity.
Journal ArticleDOI
Efficacy and safety of omalizumab in patients with chronic urticaria who exhibit IgE against thyroperoxidase.
Marcus Maurer,Sabine Altrichter,Thomas Bieber,Tilo Biedermann,Matthias Bräutigam,Stefan Seyfried,Randolf Brehler,Jürgen Grabbe,Nicolas Hunzelmann,Thilo Jakob,Andreas Jung,Jörg Kleine-Tebbe,Martin Mempel,Michael Meurer,Kristian Reich,Franziska Ruëff,Knut Schäkel,Kaushik Sengupta,Christian Sieder,Jan C. Simon,Bettina Wedi,Torsten Zuberbier,Vera Mahler,Petra Staubach +23 more
TL;DR: The results of this study indicate that omalizumab is an effective treatment option for patients with CU with IgE autoantibodies against TPO who are refractory to conventional treatment.
