Journal ArticleDOI
Feedback Mechanism in Supersonic Laminar Cavity Flows
TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed a feedback mechanism between the discrete vortices in the cavity shear layer and acoustic disturbances inside the cavity, which is the dominant mechanism and factors responsible for this phenomenon.
Proceedings ArticleDOI
Numerical simulation of the viscous flow fields over three-dimensional complicated geometries
Kozo Fujii,Paul Kutler +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a thin-layer Navier-Stokes code capable of predicting steady state viscous flows is applied to complicated three-dimensional flow fields, and the results indicate that the present method can capture the physical phenomenon well.
Journal ArticleDOI
Comprehensive Conformational and Rotational Analyses of the Butyl Group in Cyclic Cations: DFT Calculations for Imidazolium, Pyridinium, Pyrrolidinium, and Piperidinium
TL;DR: It is found that not only low energy but also high rotational activation energy is required to observe conformers in crystalline states, and the applicability of the calculated Raman bands of cations with different butyl group conformations is discussed.
Proceedings ArticleDOI
Multi-Objective Six Sigma Approach Applied to Robust Airfoil Design for Mars Airplane
Koji Shimoyama,Kozo Fujii +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, a robust aerodynamic airfoil design optimization using DFMOSS successfully showed the trade-off information between maximization and robustness improvement in aerodynamic performance by a single optimization run without careful input parameter tuning.
Proceedings ArticleDOI
Numerical analysis of the base bleed effect on the aerospike nozzles
Takashi Ito,Kozo Fujii +1 more
