TL;DR: It is found that most SARS-CoV-2 infections sampled during this time derive from a single introduction in late January or early February 2020, which subsequently spread locally before active community surveillance was implemented.

TL;DR: It is shown that the genetic diversity of bat CoVs is primarily structured by host species and subsequently by geographic distances, and that interspecies recombination may play an important role in CoV evolution and the emergence of novel CoVs with zoonotic potential.
