Journal ArticleDOI
Antiproliferative and Apoptotic Effects of Sesbania grandiflora Leaves in Human Cancer Cells
Sankar Pajaniradje,Kumaravel Mohankumar,Ramya Pamidimukkala,Srividya Subramanian,Rukkumani Rajagopalan +4 more
TL;DR: The results prove that the medicinal plant S. grandiflora can be explored further for promising candidate molecules to combat cancer, especially lung cancer.
Journal ArticleDOI
Mechanism of apoptotic induction in human breast cancer cell, MCF-7, by an analog of curcumin in comparison with curcumin – An in vitro and in silico approach
Kumaravel Mohankumar,Sankar Pajaniradje,Subhashree Sridharan,Vivek Singh,Larance Ronsard,Akhil C. Banerjea,Chellakkan Selvanesan Benson,Mohane Selvaraj Coumar,Rukkumani Rajagopalan +8 more
TL;DR: Overall results showed that BDMC-A induced apoptosis more effectively compared to curcumin and the activity can be attributed to the presence of hydroxyl group in the ortho position in its structure.
Journal ArticleDOI
Aryl Hydrocarbon Receptor (AhR) Ligands as Selective AhR Modulators: Genomic Studies.
TL;DR: Like ligands for other receptors, AhR ligands are selective AhR modulators (SAhRMs) which exhibit variable tissue-, organ- and species-specific genomic and functional activities.
Journal ArticleDOI
BDMC-A, an analog of curcumin, inhibits markers of invasion, angiogenesis, and metastasis in breast cancer cells via NF-κB pathway--A comparative study with curcumin.
Kumaravel Mohankumar,Subhashree Sridharan,Sankar Pajaniradje,Vivek Singh,Larance Ronsard,Akhil C. Banerjea,Dinesh Babu Somasundaram,Mohane Selvaraj Coumar,Latha Periyasamy,Rukkumani Rajagopalan,Rukkumani Rajagopalan +10 more
TL;DR: Investigation of the inhibitory effects of BDMC-A, an analog of curcumin, on invasion, angiogenesis and metastasis markers using in vitro with MCF-7 cells and in silico studies proved that BD MC-A has more potential thanCurcumin.
Journal ArticleDOI
Flavonoids: structure-function and mechanisms of action and opportunities for drug development.
Stephen Safe,Arul Jayaraman,Robert S. Chapkin,Marcell Howard,Kumaravel Mohankumar,Rupesh Shrestha +5 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed a mechanism-based precision medicine approach to identify critical mechanisms of action of individual flavonoids with optimal activities that can be used in combination therapies.
