A phase II trial of nerve growth factor for sensory neuropathy associated with HIV infection
Justin C. McArthur,Constantin T. Yiannoutsos,David M. Simpson,Bruce T. Adornato,Elyse J. Singer,Harry Hollander,Camillo Marra,Michael Rubin,Bruce A. Cohen,Tarvez Tucker,Bradford A. Navia,Giovanni Schifitto,David Katzenstein,C. A. Rask,Lawrence Zaborski,Mary E. Smith,S. Shriver,Linda Millar,David B. Clifford +18 more
TL;DR: A positive effect of recombinant human nerve growth factor on neuropathic pain and pin sensitivity in HIV-associated sensory neuropathy was found and rhNGF was safe and well tolerated, but injection site pain was frequent.
Journal ArticleDOI
Case‐Mix Adjustment of the CAHPS® Hospital Survey
TL;DR: Case-mix adjustment has a small impact on hospital ratings, but can lead to important reductions in the bias in comparisons between hospitals.
Journal Article
Adjusting Performance Measures to Ensure Equitable Plan Comparisons.
Alan M. Zaslavsky,Lawrence Zaborski,Lin Ding,James A. Shaul,Matthew J. Cioffi,Paul D. Cleary +5 more
TL;DR: An adjustment model that uses self-reported measures of health status, age, education, and whether someone helped the respondent with the questionnaire shows that the impact of adjustment show that the adjustments were usually small but not negligible.
Journal ArticleDOI

Clax,A. Kenton +98 more
TL;DR: The significant association of poor neurological performance with mortality, independent of CD4 counts and HIV-1 RNA levels indicates that neurological dysfunction is an important cause or a strong marker of poor prognosis in late HIV- 1 infection.
Journal ArticleDOI
Factors affecting response rates to the consumer assessment of health plans study survey
TL;DR: CAHPS-MMC survey procedures have resulted in high response rates, and current case-mix strategies compensate for some of the remaining effects of differing response rates on comparisons among plans.
