Journal ArticleDOI
The O-antigen gene cluster of Shigella boydii O11 and functional identification of its wzy gene
TL;DR: The identity of the putative wzy gene was confirmed by showing that a wzy deficient mutant strain of S. boydii O11 produced a semi-rough LPS phenotype and an evolutionary relationship between O6 and O11 O-antigen gene clusters was revealed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Development of PCR Assays Targeting the Genes Involved in Synthesis and Assembly of the New Escherichia coli O174 and O177 O Antigens
Lothar Beutin,Lothar Beutin,Qingke Kong,Lu Feng,Quan Wang,Gladys Krause,Gladys Krause,Luciana Leomil,Luciana Leomil,Qi Jin,Lei Wang +10 more
TL;DR: PCR assays established in this study were shown to be highly sensitive and reliable and could be the method of choice for detection of these two human pathogens from clinical, food, and other environmental samples.
Journal ArticleDOI
Characterization of Escherichia coli O86 O-antigen gene cluster and identification of O86-specific genes.
TL;DR: A polymerase chain reaction (PCR) assay, based on the specific O-antigen genes identified here, could be used for the rapid detection of E. coli O86 in environmental and clinical samples.
Journal ArticleDOI
Constructing Heterostructured Bimetallic Selenides on an N-Doped Carbon Nanoframework as Anodes for Ultrastable Na-Ion Batteries.
TL;DR: H-CoSe2/ZnSe@NC displays a prominent rate capacity as well as an ultralong lifespan, highlighting the significance of structure control in fabricating high-performance anodes for SIBs.
Journal ArticleDOI
Structures of the K35 and K15 capsular polysaccharides of Acinetobacter baumannii LUH5535 and LUH5554 containing amino and diamino uronic acids.
Alexander S. Shashkov,Bin Liu,Johanna J. Kenyon,Johanna J. Kenyon,Anastasiya V. Popova,Mikhail M. Shneider,Sof'ya N. Senchenkova,Nikolay P. Arbatsky,Konstantin A. Miroshnikov,Lei Wang,Yuriy A. Knirel +10 more
TL;DR: A. baumannii LUH5535 (K35 CPS) and LUH 5554 (K15 CPS) were found to consist of linear tetrasaccharide repeats as mentioned in this paper.
