Abstract: We demonstrate markedly improved electroluminescence (EL) intensity and reduced external quantum efficiency (EQE) roll-off of a device which presents two emitting layers of fac-tris-(2-phenylpyridine) iridium [Ir(ppy)3] in 4,4'-bis(9-carbazolyl)-2,2'-biphenyl (CBP) and 1,3-bis[2-(2,2'-bipyridine-6-yl)-1,3,4-oxadiazo-5-yl]benzene (Bpy-OXD); 4,7-diphenyl-1,10-phenanthroline/Bpy-OXD layers were used as hole blocking and electron transport layers. The device exhibits a maximum EQE of 15.5% (corresponding to an efficiency of 56.8 cd A−1) at a luminance of 600 cd m−2, which is twice the value (8.2%) of the reference diode using Ir(ppy)3 doped CBP as a single emitting layer; the device still maintained a 6.5% efficiency at a luminance of 70 450 cd m−2. The mechanism of this marked improvement in EL intensity and decrease in the EQE roll-off was also explored in detail.

Low band-gap polymers based on easily synthesized thioester-substituted thieno[3,4-b]thiophene for polymer solar cells
Dangqiang Zhu,Liang Sun,Xichang Bao,Shuguang Wen,Liangliang Han,Chuantao Gu,Jing Guo,Renqiang Yang,Renqiang Yang +8 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a new acceptor S-alkyl thieno[3,4-b]thiophene-2-carbothioate-based acceptor (TTS) was firstly developed via easy of synthesis and applied in the construction of donor-acceptor (D-A) type conjugated polymers, by replacing the alkyl chain of ketone-substituted thienon-thieno [3, 4b] thiophene with an alky lthio side chain.

Synthesis and photophysical properties of amino-substituted benzodithiophene-based fluorophores
Shuguang Wen,Jie Liu,Meng Qiu,Yonghai Li,Dangqiang Zhu,Chuantao Gu,Liangliang Han,Renqiang Yang +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, an amino-substituted benzodithiophene was synthesized by a TiCl4 promoted reaction, which was used to construct a series of acetylene-containing fluorophores, which exhibit intense fluorescence in solutions and solid states with large Stokes shifts.

Lighting object-based nondoped-type white organic light-emitting diode with N,N'-diphenyl-N,N'-bis(1-naphthyl)-(1,1'-benzidine)-4,4'-diamine as the chromaticity-tuning layer
Jianzhuo Zhu,Wenlian Li,Zisheng Su,Bei Chu,Liangliang Han,Dongfang Yang,Defeng Bi,Bin Li,Zhizhi Hu,Zhiqiang Zhang,Taiju Tsuboi +10 more
TL;DR: A nondoped white organic light-emitting diode in which the blue, green, and red emissions are generated from 4,4(')-bis(2,2(')-diphenylvinyl)-1,1(')-biphenol, tris(8-hydroxyquinoline)aluminum, and a submonolayer of 4-(dicyanomethylene)-2-t-butyl-6- tetramethyl-julolidyl

Dongyu Zhang,Wenlian Li,Bei Chu,Xiao Li,Zisheng Su,Liangliang Han,Tianle Li,Yiren Chen,Fei Yan,Shuanghong Wu,Zhiqiang Zhang,Zhizhi Hu +11 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors demonstrate efficient and simple structure phosphorescence organic light-emitting diodes, in which 4, 4', 4''-tris[3-methyl-pheny(phenyl)-amino]triphenyl -amine (m-MTDATA) and 4, 7-diphenyl-1,10-phenanthroline (Bphen) are used as hole transport and electron transport layers, respectively, accompanied by 3 wt% factris(2-phenylpyridine) iridium doped in
