Tropospheric water vapour and relative humidity profiles from lidar and microwave radiometry
Francisco Navas-Guzmán,Francisco Navas-Guzmán,J. Fernández-Gálvez,María José Granados-Muñoz,Juan Luis Guerrero-Rascado,Juan Antonio Bravo-Aranda,Lucas Alados-Arboledas +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, an iterative method to calibrate the water vapour mixing ratio profiles retrieved from Raman lidar measurements is presented, and the results obtained during a radiosonde campaign in summer and autumn 2011 are compared and the differences between the methodologies are discussed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Extreme, wintertime Saharan dust intrusion in the Iberian Peninsula: Lidar monitoring and evaluation of dust forecast models during the February 2017 event
A.J. Fernández,Michaël Sicard,Maria João Costa,Juan Luis Guerrero-Rascado,José Luis Gómez-Amo,Francisco Molero,Ruben Barragan,Sara Basart,Daniele Bortoli,Andrés Esteban Bedoya-Velásquez,María P. Utrillas,Pedro Salvador,Maria Jose Granados-Muñoz,Miguel Potes,Pablo Ortiz-Amezcua,J.A. Martínez-Lozano,Begoña Artíñano,Constantino Muñoz-Porcar,Rui Salgado,Roberto Román,Roberto Román,Francesc Rocadenbosch,Vanda Salgueiro,Jose Antonio Benavent-Oltra,Alejandro Rodríguez-Gómez,Lucas Alados-Arboledas,Adolfo Comerón,Manuel Pujadas +27 more
TL;DR: In this article, an unprecedented extreme Saharan dust event was registered in winter time from 20 to 23 February 2017 over the Iberian Peninsula (IP) through passive and active remote sensing techniques.
Journal ArticleDOI
Statistical analysis of aerosol optical properties retrieved by Raman lidar over Southeastern Spain
Francisco Navas-Guzmán,Juan Antonio Bravo-Aranda,Juan Luis Guerrero-Rascado,María José Granados-Muñoz,Lucas Alados-Arboledas +4 more
TL;DR: In this article, a statistical study of aerosol optical properties retrieved from Raman lidar profiles has been addressed at the EARLINET station of Granada, Spain, during the period 2008-2010.
Journal ArticleDOI
Hygroscopic growth of atmospheric aerosol particles based on active remote sensing and radiosounding measurements: selected cases in southeastern Spain
María José Granados-Muñoz,Francisco Navas-Guzmán,Francisco Navas-Guzmán,Juan Antonio Bravo-Aranda,Juan Luis Guerrero-Rascado,Hassan Lyamani,A. Valenzuela,Gloria Titos,J. Fernández-Gálvez,Lucas Alados-Arboledas +9 more
TL;DR: In this article, a new methodology based on combining active and passive remote sensing and simultaneous and collocated radiosounding data to study the aerosol hygroscopic growth effects on the particle optical and microphysical properties is presented.
Journal ArticleDOI
Development and calibration of a star photometer to measure the aerosol optical depth: Smoke observations at a high mountain site
TL;DR: In this paper, a star photometer was used to study aerosol optical properties at night, based on a CCD camera, and a combination of a Langley procedure with a calibration transfer supported by a check using the so-called two-star method of star photometry has been used in order to calibrate with an appropriate number of stars.
