Successful Immunotherapy against a Transplantable Mouse Squamous Lung Carcinoma with Anti–PD-1 and Anti-CD137 Monoclonal Antibodies
Arantza Azpilikueta,Jackeline Agorreta,Sara Labiano,Jose Luis Perez-Gracia,Alfonso R. Sánchez-Paulete,M. Angela Aznar,Daniel Ajona,Ignacio Gil-Bazo,Marta Larrayoz,Alvaro Teijeira,Maria E. Rodriguez-Ruiz,Ruben Pio,Luis M. Montuenga,Ignacio Melero +13 more
TL;DR: These promising results advocate the use of combined anti–PD‐1/PD‐L1 plus anti‐CD137 mAb immunotherapy for the treatment of squamous non–small cell lung cancer in the clinical setting.
Journal ArticleDOI
Targeting hypoxia and angiogenesis through HIF-1alpha inhibition
TL;DR: This work reviews recent findings on the potential efficacy of small molecules to down-regulate HIF-1?
Journal ArticleDOI
YES1 Drives Lung Cancer Growth and Progression and Predicts Sensitivity to Dasatinib
Irati Garmendia,Maria J. Pajares,Francisco Hermida-Prado,Daniel Ajona,Cristina Bértolo,Cristina Sainz,Amaya Lavín,Ana Remirez,Karmele Valencia,Haritz Moreno,Irene Ferrer,Carmen Behrens,Myriam Cuadrado,Luis Paz-Ares,Xosé R. Bustelo,Ignacio Gil-Bazo,Daniel Alameda,Fernando Lecanda,Alfonso Calvo,Enriqueta Felip,Montse Sanchez-Cespedes,Ignacio I. Wistuba,Rocío Granda-Díaz,Juan P. Rodrigo,Juana M. García-Pedrero,Ruben Pio,Luis M. Montuenga,Jackeline Agorreta +27 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that YES1 is essential for NSCLC carcinogenesis and high YES1 protein expression was an independent predictor for poor prognosis in lung cancer patients, providing support for the clinical evaluation of dasatinib treatment in a selected subset of patients using YES1 status as predictive biomarker for therapy.
Journal ArticleDOI
Evaluation of micro-CT for emphysema assessment in mice: comparison with non-radiological techniques
Xabier Artaechevarria,David Blanco,Gabriel de Biurrun,Mario Ceresa,Daniel Pérez-Martín,Gorka Bastarrika,Juan P. de Torres,Javier J. Zulueta,Luis M. Montuenga,Carlos Ortiz-de-Solorzano,Arrate Muñoz-Barrutia +10 more
TL;DR: Histomorphometry is the most sensitive technique since it detects airspace enlargement before the other methods (1 h after treatment) and micro-CT correlates well with histology (r2 = 0.63) proving appropriate for longitudinal studies.
Journal ArticleDOI
Novel alternatively spliced ADAM8 isoforms contribute to the aggressive bone metastatic phenotype of lung cancer.
TL;DR: The expression of truncated forms of ADAM8 by the lung cancer cells may result in the specific upregulation of their invasive and osteoclastogenic activities in the bone microenvironment, suggesting a novel mechanism of tumor-induced osteolysis in metastatic bone colonization.
