Journal ArticleDOI
Transforming growth factor-beta1 induces microvascular abnormalities through a down-modulation of neural cell adhesion molecule in human hepatocellular carcinoma
Piera Balzarini,Anna Benetti,Gloria Invernici,Silvia Cristini,Sonia Zicari,Arnaldo Caruso,Luisa Benerini Gatta,Angiola Berenzi,Luisa Imberti,Cinzia Zanotti,Nazario Portolani,Stefano Maria Giulini,Maura Ferrari,Emilio Ciusani,Stefania Elena Navone,Alessandra Canazza,Eugenio Parati,Giulio Alessandri +17 more
TL;DR: TGF-β1 contributes to H CC-induced vascular alterations by affecting the interaction between HCC-StCs and Ld-MECs through a down-modulation of NCAM expression.
Journal ArticleDOI
Tissue-specific sensitivity to AID expression in transgenic mouse models
Francesca Rucci,Leonardo Cattaneo,Veronica Marrella,Maria Grazia Sacco,Cristina Sobacchi,Franco Lucchini,Stefania Nicola,Silvia Della Bella,Maria Luisa Villa,Luisa Imberti,Francesca Gentili,Cristina Montagna,Cecilia Tiveron,Laura Tatangelo,Fabio Facchetti,Paolo Vezzoni,Anna Villa +16 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that additional factors, present in thymocytes but not in other tissues or in lymphoid cells at different stages of differentiation, are needed for AID to fully manifest its tumorigenic potential in mouse.
Journal ArticleDOI
T-cell Receptor and K-deleting Recombination Excision Circles in Newborn Screening of T- and B-cell Defects: Review of the Literature and Future Challenges.
Marco Chiarini,Cinzia Zanotti,Federico Serana,Alessandra Sottini,Diego Bertoli,Luigi Caimi,Luisa Imberti +6 more
TL;DR: Efforts are now being made to establish a screen for B-cell defects, in particular agammaglobulinaemia, taking advantage of the introduction of the method for the quantification of K-deleting recombination excision circles (KRECs).
Journal ArticleDOI
Diagnosis, Treatment and Long-Term Follow Up of Patients with ADA Deficiency: a Single-Center Experience
Renata Baffelli,Lucia Dora Notarangelo,Luisa Imberti,Michael S. Hershfield,Federico Serana,Ines Santisteban,Federica Bolda,Fulvio Porta,Arnalda Lanfranchi +8 more
TL;DR: A more rapid recovery was observed in enzyme replacement treated patients in comparison with those transplanted that, however, showed a continuous and long-lasting improvement both in terms of immune and metabolic recovery.
Journal ArticleDOI
Polyclonal T-cell expansions in a HIV(+) patient with atypical cutaneous lymphoproliferative disorder, large granular lymphocyte proliferation and SENV infection.
TL;DR: Lesional and peripheral lymphocytes of a HIV + patient who, at a one-year interval, exhibited an atypical cutaneous lymphoproliferative disorder and an expansion of large granular lymphocytes, showed predominant expression of polyclonal or slightly oligoclonal TCRBV2 chain.
