Magnetic anisotropy and crystalline electric field effects in RRh4B4 single crystals
TL;DR: In this paper, the magnetic anisotropy of single crystal samples of RRh4B4 with R = Y, Sm, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, and Lu has been investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI
Disorder and the quantum critical point in UCu5−xPdx
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors measured the magnetization of UCu5−x Pdx (x = 0.7, 1, 1.5, 2) in fields H as large as 30 T and for temperatures between 1.4 K and 150 K.
Journal ArticleDOI
Anisotropic magnetic and superconducting properties of single crystals of RERh4B4 compounds
TL;DR: In this paper, the synthesis of small single crystals of several RERh4B4 compounds where RE=Sm, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, and Tm using a flux growth technique is reported.

Hot isostatic pressing of bulk magnesium diboride: mechanical and superconducting properties
TL;DR: In this article, two different hot isostatic pressing cycles (HIPing) were investigated to synthesize bulk MgB2 samples: a "standard" cycle where a low vessel pressure is maintained while heating to the process temperature with a subsequent simultaneous pressure and temperature decrease and a new method -dense material cooling under pressure (DMCUP).
Journal ArticleDOI
Anomalous paramagnetic magnetization in the mixed state of CeCoIn 5 single crystals
TL;DR: Magnetization and torque measurements were performed on single crystals to study the mixed-state thermodynamics as discussed by the authors, which allowed the determination of both paramagnetic and vortex responses in the mixed state magnetization.
