Oxidation kinetics of cobalt and cobalt-iron alloys at high temperatures
Alejandro L. Cabrera,M. B. Maple +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the oxidation kinetics for cobalt and two cobalt-iron alloys alloys, CoFe and CoFe3, were determined between 1073 and 1280 K in 1 atm. of oxygen.

The crystalline lattice of URu_2Si_2 under pressure in the paramagnetic, hidden order, and antiferromagnetic states
TL;DR: In this article, an X-ray diffraction experiment under pressure in a diamond anvil cell has been performed to gauge any response of the crystalline lattice of URu2Si2 to the hidden order or antiferromagnetic transitions, the latter of which is accessible only with applied pressure.
Journal ArticleDOI
Magnetism in electron-doped copper oxides
Graeme Luke,L. P. Le,B. J. Sternlieb,Yasutomo J. Uemura,J. H. Brewer,Ryosuke Kadono,R. F. Kiefl,S. R. Kreitzman,T. M. Riseman,C. E. Stronach,M. R. Davis,S. Uchida,H. Takagi,Yasuhiro Tokura,Yoshikazu Hidaka,T. Murakami,E. A. Early,John T. Markert,M. B. Maple,C. L. Seaman +19 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors reported muon spin relaxation/rotation measurements on sintered powder samples of Nd2−x¯¯¯¯CeCeGemeCeFeCeIgIgFeIg
Journal ArticleDOI
On the determination of the fully critical field and critical current density from the Bean model
TL;DR: In this article, a direct method for determining the magnetic field Hfcs at which a superconductor enters the fully critical state (i.e., the field at which flux first penetrates throughout the entire sample) is described, and a formula for calculating the critical current density JcH from the value of HFcs is presented.
Journal ArticleDOI
Study of localized character of 4 f electrons and ultrasonic dispersions in SmOs 4 Sb 12 by high-pressure high-frequency ultrasonic measurements
Shota Mombetsu,T Murazumi,Hiroyuki Hidaka,Tatsuya Yanagisawa,Hiroshi Amitsuka,P.-C. Ho,M. B. Maple +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, high-frequency ultrasonic measurements on the filled skutterudite under hydrostatic pressure were performed and the results of the analysis strongly suggest that the ferro-octupolar interaction becomes dominant at high pressure.
