Journal ArticleDOI
Islet transplantation versus insulin therapy in patients with type 1 diabetes with severe hypoglycaemia or poorly controlled glycaemia after kidney transplantation (TRIMECO): a multicentre, randomised controlled trial
Sandrine Lablanche,Sandrine Lablanche,Marie-Christine Vantyghem,Laurence Kessler,Anne Wojtusciszyn,Sophie Borot,C. Thivolet,Sophie Girerd,Domenico Bosco,Jean-Luc Bosson,Cyrille Colin,Cyrille Colin,Rachel Tetaz,Sophie Logerot,Julie Kerr-Conte,Eric Renard,Alfred Penfornis,Emmanuel Morelon,Fanny Buron,Kristina Skaare,Gwen Grguric,Gwen Grguric,Coralie Camillo-Brault,Coralie Camillo-Brault,Harald Egelhofer,Kanza Benomar,Lionel Badet,Thierry Berney,François Pattou,Pierre-Yves Benhamou,Pierre-Yves Benhamou,Paolo Malvezzi,Igor Tauveron,Béatrice Roche,Christian Noel,Luc Frimat,Bruno Guerci,Nadine Pernin,Anaïck Moisan,Virginie Persoons,Rimed Ezzouaoui,Valery Gmyr,Frédéric Thony,Yvan Bricault,Mathieu Rodière,Christian Sengel,M. TL;DR: For the indications assessed in this study, islet transplantation effectively improves metabolic outcomes and seems to be a valid option for patients with severe, unstable type 1 diabetes who are not responding to intensive medical treatments.
Journal ArticleDOI
Morbidity associated with intraportal islet transplantation
Pascal Alain Robert Bucher,Z Mathe,Domenico Bosco,Christoph D. Becker,Laurence Kessler,M. Greget,P.Y. Benhamou,Axel Andres,Jose Oberholzer,Leo Buhler,Ph Morel,Thierry Berney +11 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors analyzed the relationship between occurrence of complications and islet preparation characteristics/infusion technique and concluded that procedure-related morbidity of intra-portal islet infusion is low, but this advantage must be balanced by the higher rate of complications.
Journal ArticleDOI
Combined pancreatic islet-lung transplantation: a novel approach to the treatment of end-stage cystic fibrosis.
Laurence Kessler,S. Bakopoulou,Ronald C. Kessler,Gilbert Massard,N. Santelmo,M. Greget,François Moreau,Olivier Helms,Domenico Bosco,Paola Marina Alessandra Gasche-Soccal,Philippe Morel,Philippe Wolf,Thierry Berney +12 more
TL;DR: It is shown that combined bilateral lung and pancreatic islet transplantation may be a viable therapeutic option for patients with end‐stage cystic fibrosis and CFRD at 1.5, 2 and 15 years follow‐up.
Journal ArticleDOI
Combined pancreatic islet-lung transplantation with islet percutaneous portal embolization in cystic fibrosis.
Laurence Kessler,M. Greget,Anne C. Metivier,Françcois Moreau,Domenico Bosco,N. Santelmo,Olivier Helms,Michel Pinget,Thierry Berney,Gilbert Massard,Romain Kessler +10 more
TL;DR: This work was supported by National Reference Center for Histocompatibility and Sanquin Blood Bank and Lippincott Williams & Wilkins.
Journal ArticleDOI
Studies of Circulating Microparticle Release in Peripheral Blood After Pancreatic Islet Transplantation
Florence Toti,François Bayle,Thierry Berney,Harald Egelhofer,Marie-Jeanne Richard,M. Greget,D Masson,Fatiha Zobairi,Pierre-Yves Benhamou,Laurence Kessler +9 more
TL;DR: Monitoring of membrane procoagulant microparticles (MPs) as markers of cell stress in the plasma of three recipients with various clinical histories suggested that a peak in MP levels might indicate rejection with prognotic value.
