Bipolar-shell resurfacing for blue LEDs based on strongly confined perovskite quantum dots
Yitong Dong,Ya-Kun Wang,Ya-Kun Wang,Fanglong Yuan,Andrew Johnston,Yuan Liu,Dongxin Ma,Min-Jae Choi,Bin Chen,Mahshid Chekini,Se-Woong Baek,Se-Woong Baek,Laxmi Kishore Sagar,James Z. Fan,Yi Hou,Mingjian Wu,Seungjin Lee,Bin Sun,Sjoerd Hoogland,Rafael Quintero-Bermudez,Hinako Ebe,Petar Todorović,Filip Dinic,Peicheng Li,Hao Ting Kung,Makhsud I. Saidaminov,Makhsud I. Saidaminov,Eugenia Kumacheva,Erdmann Spiecker,Liang-Sheng Liao,Oleksandr Voznyy,Zheng-Hong Lu,Edward H. Sargent +32 more
TL;DR: Perovskite QD resurfacing is reported to achieve a bipolar shell consisting of an inner anion shell, and an outer shell comprised of cations and polar solvent molecules, to fabricate blue and green light-emitting diodes with improved mobility.
Journal ArticleDOI
Chiromagnetic nanoparticles and gels.
Jihyeon Yeom,Uallisson S. Santos,Mahshid Chekini,Cha Minjeong,André Farias de Moura,Nicholas A. Kotov +5 more
TL;DR: It was found that dispersions and gels of paramagnetic Co3O4 nanoparticles with chiral distortions of the crystal lattices exhibited chiroptical activity in the visible range that was 10 times as strong as that of nonparamagnetic nanoparticles of comparable size.
Journal ArticleDOI
Chiral Ceramic Nanoparticles and Peptide Catalysis
Shuang Jiang,Mahshid Chekini,Zhibei Qu,Yichun Wang,Aydan Yeltik,Yuangang Liu,Alex Kotlyar,Tianyong Zhang,Bin Li,Hilmi Volkan Demir,Hilmi Volkan Demir,Nicholas A. Kotov +11 more
TL;DR: The preparation of chiral ceramic NPs, as represented by tungsten oxide hydrate, WO3-x·H2O, dispersed in ethanol is reported to create a unique combination of properties relevant to chiral optics, chemical technologies, and biomedicine.
Journal ArticleDOI
Growing gold nanoparticles on a flexible substrate to enable simple mechanical control of their plasmonic coupling
Ugo Cataldi,Ugo Cataldi,Roberto Caputo,Yuriy Kurylyak,Gérard Klein,Mahshid Chekini,Cesare Umeton,Thomas Bürgi +7 more
TL;DR: In this article, a simple method is presented to control and trigger the coupling between plasmonic particles using both a growing process of gold nanoparticles (GNPs) and a mechanical strain applied to the elastomeric template where these GNPs are anchored.
Journal ArticleDOI
Modular synthesis, orthogonal post-functionalization, absorption, and chiroptical properties of cationic [6]helicenes.
TL;DR: Novel cationic diaza-, azaoxo-, and dioxo[6]helicenes are readily prepared and functionalized selectively by orthogonal aromatic electrophilic and vicarious nucleophilic substitutions and reductions, cross-coupling, or condensation reactions introduce additional diversity and allow tuning of the absorption properties up to the near-infrared region.
