Blazar spectral variability as explained by a twisted inhomogeneous jet

C. M. Raiteri, +101 more
- 04 Dec 2017 -
TL;DR: It is shown that the observed long-term trends of the flux and spectral variability are best explained by an inhomogeneous, curved jet that undergoes changes in orientation over time, and proposes that magnetohydrodynamic instabilities or rotation of the twisted jet cause different jet regions to change their orientation and hence their relative Doppler factors.

The w40 region in the gould belt: an embedded cluster and h ii region at the junction of filaments

TL;DR: In this paper, a multi-wavelength study of the W40 star-forming region using infrared (IR) observations in the UKIRT JHK bands, Spitzer Infrared Array Camera bands, and Herschel PACS bands, 2.12 μm H{sub 2} narrowband imaging, and radio continuum observations from GMRT (610 and 1280 MHz), in a field of view (FoV) of ∼34' × 40'.
