TL;DR: Subclinical hypothyroidism was associated with an increased risk of hip and other fractures, particularly among those with TSH levels of less than 0.10 mIU/L and those with endogenous subclinical hyperthyroidism.

TL;DR: Although no overall effect of subclinical hypothyroidism on stroke could be demonstrated, an increased risk in subjects younger than 65 years and those with higher TSH concentrations was observed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Subclinical Thyroid Dysfunction and the Risk for Fractures: A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis
Christina Doris Wirth,Manuel R. Blum,Bruno R. da Costa,Christine Baumgartner,Tinh-Hai Collet,Marco Medici,Robin P. Peeters,Drahomir Aujesky,Douglas C. Bauer,Nicolas Rodondi +9 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors assessed the risk for hip and nonspine fractures associated with subclinical thyroid dysfunction among prospective cohorts and found that subclinical hyperthyroidism might be associated with an increased risk for these fractures.
