Krestin,Wiro J. Niessen,Wiro J. Niessen +30 more
TL;DR: A standardized evaluation methodology and reference database for the quantitative evaluation of coronary artery centerline extraction algorithms and a database containing 32 cardiac CTA datasets with corresponding reference standard is described and made available.
Journal ArticleDOI
Comparing algorithms for automated vessel segmentation in computed tomography scans of the lung: the VESSEL12 study
Rina D. Rudyanto,Sjoerd Kerkstra,Eva M. van Rikxoort,Catalin Fetita,Pierre Yves Brillet,Christophe Lefevre,Wenzhe Xue,Xiangjun Zhu,Jianming Liang,Ilkay Oksuz,Devrim Unay,Kamuran A. TL;DR: An annotated reference dataset is presented and a quantitative scoring system is proposed for objective comparison of algorithms and performance analysis of the strengths and weaknesses of the various vessel segmentation methods in the presence of various lung diseases.
Journal ArticleDOI
Recursive tracking of vascular tree axes in 3D medical images
TL;DR: From one initial point, the algorithm extracts a vascular tree where the differences of size and of intensity between the branches are not large and missed sub-trees can be recovered using additional starting points.
Journal ArticleDOI
Automatic detection of abnormal vascular cross-sections based on density level detection and support vector machines.
Maria A. Zuluaga,Isabelle E. Magnin,Marcela Hernández Hoyos,Edgar J. F. Delgado Leyton,Fernando Lozano,Maciej Orkisz +5 more
TL;DR: Good specificity, sensitivity and agreement with experts, as well as a short processing time, show that the DLD-SVM approach to detect vascular abnormalities can facilitate medical diagnosis and reduce evaluation time by attracting the reader’s attention to suspect regions.
Book ChapterDOI
Learning from only positive and unlabeled data to detect lesions in vascular CT images
TL;DR: A new algorithm capable of detecting both calcified and non-calcified plaques in CT images is presented, which is comparable to state-of-the-art supervised methods, and the performance can improve after additional iterations.
