Journal ArticleDOI
Surgery in the management of small cell lung cancer.
Marco Lucchi,Alfredo Mussi,Antonio Chella,Alberto Janni,Alessandro Ribechini,G. F. Menconi,Carlo Alberto Angeletti +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, the role of surgery in the multimodal treatment of small cell lung cancer (SCLC) was analyzed in the period of January 1975-December 1995.
Journal ArticleDOI
Primary Neuroendocrine Tumors of the Thymus: A Multicenter Experience of 35 Patients
Giuseppe Cardillo,Federico Rea,Marco Lucchi,Marinus A. Paul,Stefano Margaritora,Francesco Carleo,Giuseppe Marulli,Alfredo Mussi,Pierluigi Granone,Paolo Graziano +9 more
TL;DR: The prognosis of primary NETT is statistically significantly related to tumor size >7 cm and to the proliferation index (evaluated by Ki67 expression >10%), and the histologic type of the neoplasm and the presence of a paraneoplastic syndrome also impact prognosis.
Journal ArticleDOI
Robotic extended thymectomy for early-stage thymomas.
Alfredo Mussi,Olivia Fanucchi,Federico Davini,Marco Lucchi,Alessandro Picchi,Marcello Carlo Ambrogi,Franca Melfi +6 more
TL;DR: Robotic extended thymectomy for thymoma appeared to be an effective treatment for early-stage thymomas on a small series with short follow-up, with special regard to oncological outcomes.
Journal ArticleDOI
Let-7g and miR-21 expression in non-small cell lung cancer: Correlation with clinicopathological and molecular features
Alessandra Capodanno,Laura Boldrini,Agnese Proietti,Greta Alì,Serena Pelliccioni,Cristina Niccoli,Armida D'Incecco,Federico Cappuzzo,Antonio Chella,Marco Lucchi,Alfredo Mussi,Gabriella Fontanini +11 more
TL;DR: The data indicate that Let-7g and miR-21 profiling combined with the determination of K-Ras mutational status may be considered a useful biomarker for a more effective molecular characterization and clinical management of NSCLC patients.
Journal ArticleDOI
Modulation of neoangiogenesis in bronchial preneoplastic lesions.
Gabriella Fontanini,A Calcinai,Laura Boldrini,Marco Lucchi,Alfredo Mussi,Ca Angeletti,C Cagno,Ma Tognetti,Fulvio Basolo +8 more
TL;DR: The association between MVD, VEGF expression, p53 mutations and preinvasive lesions of the bronchial tree suggests that neoangiogenesis is early in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) development and that p53 may have an important role in promoting angiogenesis in this human model of carcinogenesis.
