MET Amplification Leads to Gefitinib Resistance in Lung Cancer by Activating ERBB3 Signaling

TL;DR: It is proposed that MET amplification may promote drug resistance in other ERBB-driven cancers as well after it was found that amplification of MET causes gefitinib resistance by driving ERBB3 (HER3)–dependent activation of PI3K, a pathway thought to be specific to EGFR/ERBB family receptors.
Journal ArticleDOI

First-line crizotinib versus chemotherapy in ALK-positive lung cancer

TL;DR: Crizotinib was superior to standard first-line pemetrexed-plus-platinum chemotherapy in patients with previously untreated advanced ALK-positive NSCLC and was associated with greater reduction in lung cancer symptoms and greater improvement in quality of life.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effects of KRAS, BRAF, NRAS, and PIK3CA mutations on the efficacy of cetuximab plus chemotherapy in chemotherapy-refractory metastatic colorectal cancer: a retrospective consortium analysis

TL;DR: This is the largest cohort to date of patients with chemotherapy-refractory metastatic colorectal cancer treated with cetuximab plus chemotherapy in the pre-KRAS selection era and confirmed that, if KRAS is not mutated, assessing BRAF, NRAS, and PIK3CA population response rates confirmed that.
