Whole-genome fingerprint of the DNA methylome during human B cell differentiation
Marta Kulis,Angelika Merkel,Simon Heath,Ana C. Queirós,Ronald P. Schuyler,Giancarlo Castellano,Renée Beekman,Emanuele Raineri,Anna Esteve,Guillem Clot,Néria Verdaguer-Dot,Martí Duran-Ferrer,Nuria Russiñol,Roser Vilarrasa-Blasi,Simone Ecker,Vera Pancaldi,Daniel Rico,Lidia Agueda,Julie Blanc,David S. Richardson,Laura Clarke,Avik Datta,Marien Pascual,Xabier Agirre,Felipe Prosper,Diego Alignani,Bruno Paiva,Gersende Caron,Thierry Fest,Marcus O. Muench,Marina E. Fomin,Seung-Tae Lee,Joseph L. Wiemels,Alfonso Valencia,Marta Gut,Paul Flicek,Hendrik G. Stunnenberg,Reiner Siebert,Ralf Küppers,Ivo Gut,Elias Campo,José I. Martín-Subero +41 more
TL;DR: It is determined that B cell neoplasms frequently acquire methylation changes in regions already undergoing dynamic methylation during normal B cell differentiation, and this signature was particularly widespread in mature cells with an extended lifespan.
Journal ArticleDOI
A global DNA methylation and gene expression analysis of early human B-cell development reveals a demethylation signature and transcription factor network.
Seung-Tae Lee,Yuanyuan Xiao,Marcus O. Muench,Jianqiao Xiao,Marina E. Fomin,John K. Wiencke,Shichun Zheng,Xiaoqin Dou,Adam J. de Smith,Anand P. Chokkalingam,Patricia A. Buffler,Xiaomei Ma,Joseph L. Wiemels +12 more
TL;DR: A distinct development-dependent demethylation signature is identified which has gene expression regulatory properties for pre-B cells, and this work provides a catalog reference for the epigenetic changes that occur inPre-B-cell leukemia and other B-cell-related diseases.
Journal ArticleDOI
Neutralizing Monoclonal Antibodies Block Chikungunya Virus Entry and Release by Targeting an Epitope Critical to Viral Pathogenesis
Jing Jin,Nathan M. Liss,Nathan M. Liss,Dong-Hua Chen,Maofu Liao,Julie M. Fox,Raeann M. Shimak,Rachel H. Fong,Daniel M. Chafets,Daniel M. Chafets,Sonia Bakkour,Sonia Bakkour,Sheila M. Keating,Sheila M. Keating,Marina E. Fomin,Marina E. Fomin,Marcus O. Muench,Marcus O. Muench,Michael B. Sherman,Benjamin J. Doranz,Michael S. Diamond,Graham Simmons,Graham Simmons +22 more
TL;DR: This study suggests that antibodies engaging the residue E2-W64 can potently inhibit chikungunya virus at multiple stages of infection, antibody-based therapies or immunogens that target this region might have protective value.
Journal ArticleDOI
Fresh frozen plasma and spray-dried plasma mitigate pulmonary vascular permeability and inflammation in hemorrhagic shock.
Daniel R. Potter,Gail Baimukanova,Sheila M. Keating,Xutao Deng,Jeffrey A. Chu,Stuart L. Gibb,Zhanglong Peng,Marcus O. Muench,Marina E. Fomin,Philip C. Spinella,Rosemary A. Kozar,Shibani Pati +11 more
TL;DR: Both FFP and SDP similarly modulate pulmonary vascular integrity, permeability, and inflammation in vitro and in vivo in a murine model of HS and trauma.
Journal ArticleDOI
Epigenetic remodeling in B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia occurs in two tracks and employs embryonic stem cell-like signatures
Seung-Tae Lee,Marcus O. Muench,Marina E. Fomin,Jianqiao Xiao,Mi Zhou,Adam J. de Smith,José I. Martín-Subero,Simon Heath,E. Andres Houseman,Ritu Roy,Margaret Wrensch,John K. Wiencke,Catherine Metayer,Joseph L. Wiemels +13 more
TL;DR: DNA methylomes of pediatric B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemias using whole-genome bisulfite sequencing and high-definition microarrays suggested a pivotal role of polycomb and CTBP2 in de novo methylation, which may be traced back to bivalency status of embryonic stem cells.
