Xose S. Puente,Sílvia Beà,Rafael Valdés-Mas,Neus Villamor,Jesús Gutiérrez-Abril,José I. Martín-Subero,Marta Munar,Carlota Rubio-Perez,Pedro Jares,Marta Aymerich,Tycho Baumann,Renée Beekman,Laura Belver,Anna Carrió,Giancarlo Castellano,Guillem Clot,Enrique Colado,Dolors Colomer,Dolors Costa,Julio Delgado,Anna Enjuanes,Xavier Estivill,Adolfo A. Stunnenberg,David Tamborero,María José Terol,Alfonso Valencia,Nuria Lopez-Bigas,David Torrents,Ivo Gut,Armando López-Guillermo,Carlos López-Otín,Elias Campo +56 more
TL;DR: An integrated portrait of the CLL genomic landscape is provided, new recurrent driver mutations of the disease are identified, and clinical interventions that may improve the management of this neoplasia are suggested.
Journal ArticleDOI
Whole-genome fingerprint of the DNA methylome during human B cell differentiation
Marta Kulis,Angelika Merkel,Simon Heath,Ana C. Queirós,Ronald P. Schuyler,Giancarlo Castellano,Renée Beekman,Emanuele Raineri,Anna Esteve,Guillem Clot,Néria Verdaguer-Dot,Martí Duran-Ferrer,Nuria Russiñol,Roser Vilarrasa-Blasi,Simone Ecker,Vera Pancaldi,Daniel Rico,Lidia Agueda,Julie Blanc,David S. Wiemels,Alfonso Valencia,Marta Gut,Paul Flicek,Hendrik G. Stunnenberg,Reiner Siebert,Ralf Küppers,Ivo Gut,Elias Campo,José I. Martín-Subero +41 more
TL;DR: It is determined that B cell neoplasms frequently acquire methylation changes in regions already undergoing dynamic methylation during normal B cell differentiation, and this signature was particularly widespread in mature cells with an extended lifespan.
Journal ArticleDOI
Intragenic DNA methylation in transcriptional regulation, normal differentiation and cancer
TL;DR: The potential role of intragenic DNA methylation in alternative promoter usage, regulation of short and long non-coding RNAs, alternative RNA processing, as well as enhancer activity is discussed.
Journal ArticleDOI
G-CSF and its receptor in myeloid malignancy.
Renée Beekman,Ivo P. Touw +1 more
TL;DR: A possible role of G-CSF in malignant transformation, particularly in patients with neutropenia harboring mutations in the gene encoding the G- CSF receptor is discussed, especially in patients in which the high susceptibility to develop MDS and acute myeloid leukemia has now become a major clinical concern.
Journal ArticleDOI
Sequential gain of mutations in severe congenital neutropenia progressing to acute myeloid leukemia
Renée Beekman,Marijke Valkhof,Mathijs A. Sanders,Paulette van Strien,Jurgen R. Haanstra,L Broeders,Wendy Mc C. Geertsma-Kleinekoort,Anjo J.P. Veerman,Peter J. M. Valk,Roeland Verhaak,Bob Löwenberg,Ivo P. Touw +11 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors obtained serial hematopoietic samples from an SCN patient who developed acute myeloid leukemia (AML) 17 years after the initiation of G-CSF treatment.
