Journal ArticleDOI

Structure determination of neutral MgO clusters--hexagonal nanotubes and cages.

TL;DR: Structural information for neutral magnesium oxide clusters has been obtained by a comparison of their experimental vibrational spectra with predictions from theory, showing clear evidence that clusters of the composition form hexagonal tubes, which confirm previous theoretical predictions.
Journal ArticleDOI

Probing the structures of gas-phase rhodium cluster cations by far-infrared spectroscopy

TL;DR: The geometric structures of small cationic rhodium clusters Rh(n)(+) (n = 6-12) are investigated by comparison of experimental far-infrared multiple photon dissociation spectra with spectra calculated using density functional theory, and the clusters are found to favor structures based on octahedral and tetrahedral motifs.
Journal ArticleDOI

Probing Molecular Dynamics by Laser-Induced Backscattering Holography

TL;DR: It is demonstrated that the backscattering hologram can resolve the different nuclear dynamics between H_{2} and D{2} with subangstrom spatial and subcycle temporal resolution, and it is shown that attosecond electron dynamics can be resolved.
Journal ArticleDOI

Structural Diversity and Flexibility of MgO Gas‐Phase Clusters

TL;DR: In contrast to the bulk material, neutral and cationic gas-phase clusters of MgO display unusual structural diversity and flexibility, but the neutral and charged ones also differ.
