Genome-Wide Insertional Mutagenesis of Arabidopsis thaliana
Jose M. Alonso,Anna Stepanova,Thomas J. Leisse,Christopher J. Kim,Huaming Chen,Paul Shinn,Denise K. Stevenson,Justin Zimmerman,Pascual Barajas,Rosa Cheuk,Carmelita Gadrinab,Collen Heller,Albert Jeske,Eric Koesema,Cristina C. Meyers,Holly Parker,Lance Prednis,Yasser Ansari,Nathan Choy,Hashim Deen,Michael Geralt,Nisha Hazari,Emily Hom,Meagan Karnes,Celene Mulholland,Ral Ndubaku,Ian Thomas Schmidt,Plinio Guzmán,Laura Aguilar-Henonin,Markus Schmid,Detlef Weigel,David E. Carter,Trudy Marchand,Eddy Risseeuw,Debra Brogden,Albana Zeko,William L. Crosby,Charles C. Berry,Joseph R. Ecker +38 more
TL;DR: Genome-wide analysis of the distribution of integration events revealed the existence of a large integration site bias at both the chromosome and gene levels, and insertion mutations were identified in genes that are regulated in response to the plant hormone ethylene.
Journal ArticleDOI
A gene expression map of Arabidopsis thaliana development
Markus Schmid,Timothy S. Davison,Stefan R. Henz,Utz Johann Pape,Monika Demar,Martin Vingron,Bernhard Schölkopf,Detlef Weigel,Detlef Weigel,Jan U. Lohmann +9 more
TL;DR: Examining the expression patterns of large gene families, it is found that they are often more similar than would be expected by chance, indicating that many gene families have been co-opted for specific developmental processes.
Journal ArticleDOI
Specific Effects of MicroRNAs on the Plant Transcriptome
Rebecca Schwab,Javier F. Palatnik,Markus Riester,Carla Schommer,Markus Schmid,Detlef Weigel,Detlef Weigel +6 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that miR172, previously thought to act primarily by translational repression, can efficiently guide mRNA cleavage, although the effects on steady-state levels of target transcripts are obscured by strong feedback regulation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Integration of spatial and temporal information during floral induction in Arabidopsis.
Philip A. Wigge,Philip A. Wigge,Min Chul Kim,Katja E. Jaeger,Wolfgang Busch,Markus Schmid,Jan U. Lohmann,Detlef Weigel,Detlef Weigel +8 more
TL;DR: Data suggest that FT primarily controls the timing of flowering of Arabidopsis, and that integration of temporal and spatial information is mediated in part by the bZIP transcription factor FD, which is already expressed at the shoot apex before floral induction.
Journal ArticleDOI
Phylogeny of All Recognized Species of Ammonia Oxidizers Based on Comparative 16S rRNA and amoA Sequence Analysis: Implications for Molecular Diversity Surveys
Ulrike Purkhold,Andreas Pommerening-Röser,Stefan Juretschko,Markus Schmid,Hans-Peter Koops,Michael Wagner +5 more
TL;DR: The presented 16S rRNA and amoA and AmoA sequence data from all recognized AOB species significantly extend the currently used molecular classification schemes for AOB and now provide a more robust phylogenetic framework for molecular diversity inventories of AOB.
