S100A9 induces differentiation of acute myeloid leukemia cells through TLR4

TL;DR: In vitro and in vivo analyses revealed that S 100A9 induces AML cell differentiation, whereas S100A8 prevents differentiation induced by S100 a9 activity and maintains AML immature phenotype, indicating that S100 A8 and S100a9 are regulators of myeloid differentiation in leukemia and have therapeutic potential in myelomonocytic and monocytic AMLs.
Book ChapterDOI

Extracellular Flux Analysis to Monitor Glycolytic Rates and Mitochondrial Oxygen Consumption

TL;DR: Different tools and techniques are described to study the bioenergetic metabolism of cultured cells, using immune cells as a model to target the metabolic alterations of malignant cells for immunotherapy.
Journal ArticleDOI

New tricks from an old dog: mitochondrial redox signaling in cellular inflammation.

TL;DR: Mitochondrial ROS is highlighted as a novel generator of pro-inflammatory ROS and a potential therapeutic target in inflammatory diseases.
Journal ArticleDOI

Angiopoietin chemotactic activities on neutrophils are regulated by PI‐3K activation

TL;DR: The data demonstrate that angiopoietins increase neutrophil migration through PI‐3K activation and can enhance proinflammatory activities of other cytokines.
