Cholesterol-functionalized DNA/RNA heteroduplexes cross the blood–brain barrier and knock down genes in the rodent CNS
Tetsuya Nagata,Chrissa A. Dwyer,Kie Yoshida-Tanaka,Kensuke Ihara,Masaki Ohyagi,Hidetoshi Kaburagi,Haruka Miyata,Satoe Ebihara,Kotaro Yoshioka,Takashi Ishii,Kanjiro Miyata,Kenichi Miyata,Berit Powers,Tomoko Igari,Syunsuke Yamamoto,Naoto Arimura,Hideki Hirabayashi,Toshiki Uchihara,Rintaro Iwata Hara,Rintaro Iwata Hara,Takeshi Wada,C. Frank Bennett,Punit P. Seth,Frank Rigo,Takanori Yokota +24 more
TL;DR: In this article, DNA/RNA heteroduplex oligonucleotides conjugated to cholesterol or α-tocopherol at the 5′ end of the RNA strand reach the central nervous system (CNS) after subcutaneous or intravenous administration in mice and rats.
Journal ArticleDOI
Regulation of angiogenesis in the bone marrow of myelodysplastic syndromes transforming to overt leukaemia
Tamara Keith,Yuko Araki,Masaki Ohyagi,Maki Hasegawa,Kouhei Yamamoto,Morito Kurata,Yasunori Nakagawa,Kenshi Suzuki,Masanobu Kitagawa +8 more
TL;DR: The findings indicate that the bone marrow microenvironment in MDS’→ OL and de novo AML differs remarkably, suggesting the different efficacy of anti‐angiogenic therapy between de noVO AML and leukaemia secondary to MDS.
Journal ArticleDOI
Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyradiculoneuropathy in a Patient with Crohn's Disease
Masaki Ohyagi,Takuya Ohkubo,Yousuke Yagi,Satoru Ishibashi,Junko Akiyama,Masakazu Nagahori,Mamoru Watanabe,Takanori Yokota,Hidehiro Mizusawa +8 more
TL;DR: Results suggest that humoral factors may play an important role in CIDP associated with CD, and Plasma exchanges were initially effective; however, the effects gradually declined starting 10 days after the plasma exchange (PE).
Journal ArticleDOI
Hereditary neuropathy with liability to pressure palsy combined with suspected schwannomas of the peroneal and radial nerves.
TL;DR: The features common to this case and the previously reported case, namely, schwannomas arising over entrapment sites and around joints, and no findings of NF type 1 or 2, probably indicate a common pathological mechanism in both patients.
Journal ArticleDOI
Progression of Bilateral Internal Carotid Artery Dissection during Antiplatelet Therapy
TL;DR: The possibility that intramural hematomas are enlarged by antiplatelet and anticoagulant agents and draws attention to the medications associated with ICAD is suggested.
