Measurement of the atmospheric neutrino-induced upgoing muon flux using MACRO

M. Ambrosio, +135 more
- 27 Aug 1998 -
TL;DR: In this article, a measurement of the flux of neutrino-induced upgoing muons ( ν >∼ 100 GeV) using the MACRO detector is presented, where the ratio of the observed to expected events integrated over all zenith angles is 0.74 ± 0.036 (stat) ±0.13 (theoretical).
Journal ArticleDOI

Demonstration of megavoltage and diagnostic x-ray imaging with hydrogenated amorphous silicon arrays

TL;DR: Initial megavoltage and diagnostic-quality x-ray images taken with several arrays made with hydrogenated amorphous silicon, including the first examples of anatomical-phantom images are presented.
Journal ArticleDOI

Matter effects in upward-going muons and sterile neutrino oscillations

M. Ambrosio, +127 more
- 27 Sep 2001 -
TL;DR: The angular distribution of upward-going muons produced by atmospheric neutrinos in the rock below the MACRO detector shows anomalies in good agreement with two flavor ν μ → ν τ oscillations with maximum mixing and Δm 2 around 0.0024 eV 2.
Journal ArticleDOI

New precision tests of the Einstein equivalence principle from SN1987A

TL;DR: The relativistic time delays of the photons and neutrinos from SN1987A caused by the gravitational field of the authors' Galaxy are compared, and it is shown that they are equal, to an accuracy of approximately 0.2% of the predicted delay.
Journal ArticleDOI

Vertical muon intensity measured with MACRO at the Gran Sasso laboratory

M. Ambrosio, +119 more
- 01 Oct 1995 -
TL;DR: An analysis of systematic uncertainties introduced by the interaction models in the atmosphere and the underground propagation of muons is presented and a comparison of results with published data is also presented.
