Journal ArticleDOI

Rate-change instrumented indentation for measuring strain rate sensitivity

TL;DR: In this paper, a rate change instrumented indentation method is introduced to experimentally characterize the strain rate sensitivity of high strength materials, such as metallic glasses and nanocrystalline metals, which generally possess low rate sensitivity at room temperature.
Journal ArticleDOI

Understanding the separator pore size inhibition effect on lithium dendrite via phase-field simulations

TL;DR: In this article , the phase-field model was applied to construct the electrochemical system total free energy to study the ion re-distribution behavior of porous separator and understand the pore size inhibition effect on lithium dendrite.
Journal ArticleDOI

An ultrahigh volumetric capacitance of squeezable three-dimensional bicontinuous nanoporous graphene

TL;DR: In this article, a squeezable bicontinuous nanoporous nitrogen-doped graphene was proposed, which is extremely flexible and can tolerate large volume contraction by mechanical compression without the face-to-face restacking.
Journal ArticleDOI

Micromechanical properties of pyrolytic carbon with interlayer crosslink

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors performed molecular dynamics simulations to investigate the micromechanical properties of pyrolytic carbon with the consideration of interlayer crosslinks, and they found that moderate numbers of crosslinks can significantly enhance the mechanical properties of PyC under out-of-plane uniaxial tension.
