Journal ArticleDOI

Mutant p53 in colon cancer.

TL;DR: Results indicate that missense-type p53 mutations together with loss of wild- type p53 accelerate the late stage of colorectal cancer progression through the activation of both oncogenic and inflammatory pathways.
Journal ArticleDOI

CRISPR-Cas9–mediated gene knockout in intestinal tumor organoids provides functional validation for colorectal cancer driver genes

TL;DR: In this article, a platform for functional validation of CRC driver genes using CRISPR-Cas9 in mouse intestinal tumor organoids and human CRC-derived organoids in xenograft mouse models is described.
Journal ArticleDOI

Suppressing TGFβ Signaling in Regenerating Epithelia in an Inflammatory Microenvironment Is Sufficient to Cause Invasive Intestinal Cancer

TL;DR: It is indicated that a simple genetic alteration in the TGFβ signaling pathway in the inflamed and regenerating intestinal mucosa can cause invasive intestinal tumors and such a mechanism may play a role in the colon carcinogenesis associated with inflammatory bowel disease in humans.
