Journal ArticleDOI

The DosR Regulon Modulates Adaptive Immunity and Is Essential for Mycobacterium tuberculosis Persistence

TL;DR: The DosR regulon modulates both the magnitude and the timing of adaptive immune responses in response to hypoxia in vivo, resulting in persistent infection and interference with the development of effective antituberculosis vaccines.
Journal ArticleDOI

Serum Amyloid A-Luciferase Transgenic Mice: Response to Sepsis, Acute Arthritis, and Contact Hypersensitivity and the Effects of Proteasome Inhibition

TL;DR: It is suggested that proteasome inhibition, perhaps through the NF-κB signaling pathway, may regulate SAA1 expression and both local and systemic induction of A-SAA occur during inflammation and may contribute to the pathogenesis of chronic inflammatory diseases associated with amyloid deposition.
Journal ArticleDOI

NF-κB and Not the MAPK Signaling Pathway Regulates GADD45β Expression during Acute Inflammation

TL;DR: The data are consistent with the notion that NF-κB, but not the MAPK signaling pathways, is involved in the in vivo regulation of GADD45β expression, which supports the proposed role of Gadd45β in protecting cells against DNA damaged under various stress conditions.
Journal ArticleDOI

LAG3 expression in active Mycobacterium tuberculosis infections.

TL;DR: The expression of LAG3 coincides with high bacterial burdens and changes in the host type 1 helper T-cell response, and this response is not observed in nonhuman primates infected with non-MTB bacterial pathogens, nor with simian immunodeficiency virus alone.
