Journal ArticleDOI
Pancreatic intraductal tubulopapillary neoplasm is genetically distinct from intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasm and ductal adenocarcinoma
Olca Basturk,Michael F. Berger,Hiroshi Yamaguchi,Volkan Adsay,Gokce Askan,Umesh Bhanot,Ahmet Zehir,Fátima Carneiro,Seung-Mo Hong,Giuseppe Zamboni,Esra Dikoglu,Vaidehi Jobanputra,Kazimierz O. Wrzeszczynski,Serdar Balci,Peter J. Allen,Naoki Ikari,Shoko Takeuchi,Hiroyuki Akagawa,Atsushi Kanno,Tooru Shimosegawa,Takanori Morikawa,Fuyuhiko Motoi,Michiaki Unno,Ryota Higuchi,Masakazu Yamamoto,Kyoko Shimizu,Toru Furukawa,David S. Klimstra +27 more
TL;DR: The results suggest that intraductal tubulopapillary neoplasm has distinguishing genetic characteristics and some of these mutated genes are potentially targetable.
Journal ArticleDOI
Mutations in BRCA1, BRCA2, and PALB2, and a panel of 50 cancer-associated genes in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma.
TL;DR: Results indicate that rare germline variations in BRCA pathway genes could be found more frequently than previously anticipated and, more importantly, potentially deleterious mutations of them could be a favorable prognostic factor in patients with resectable PDACs.
Journal ArticleDOI
Near-Comprehensive Resequencing of Cancer-Associated Genes in Surgically Resected Metastatic Liver Tumors of Gastric Cancer.
TL;DR: The p53 pathway may facilitate the development of biomarkers and therapeutic approaches to treat gastric cancer metastases to the liver, and Immunohistochemical analyses showed aberrant p53 expression in tumors with TP53 mutations.
Journal Article
HER2-positive gastric cancer with paraaortic nodal metastasis successfully resected after chemotherapy with trastuzumab: a case report
Naoki Ikari,Go Nakajima,Kiyoaki Taniguchi,Tsuyoshi Sasagawa,Kosuke Narumiya,Takuji Yamada,Kenji Kudo,Yoichi Kitamura,Kazuhiko Hayashi,Toshio Nishikawa,Masakazu Yamamoto +10 more
TL;DR: This case of human epidermal growth factor receptor-2 (HER2)-positive gastric cancer with paraaortic lymph node metastasis is reported, suggesting that, due to intra-tumor heterogeneity, the risks presented by remnant HER2-negative cancer cells persist despite trastuzumab therapy.
Journal ArticleDOI
Development of a system combining comprehensive genotyping and organoid cultures for identifying and testing genotype-oriented personalised medicine for pancreatobiliary cancers
Masahiro Shiihara,Tomohiko Ishikawa,Yuriko Saiki,Yuko Omori,Katsuya Hirose,Shinichi Fukushige,Naoki Ikari,Ryota Higuchi,Masakazu Yamamoto,Takanori Morikawa,Kei Nakagawa,Hiroki Hayashi,Masamichi Mizuma,Hideo Ohtsuka,Fuyuhiko Motoi,Michiaki Unno,Yasunobu Okamura,Kengo Kinoshita,Toru Furukawa +18 more
TL;DR: In this article, a system for identifying and testing genotype-oriented targeted drugs for pancreatobiliary cancers by combining exome sequencing and organoid culture of primary tumours was established.
