Dopamine Receptor Partial Agonists for the Treatment of Bipolar Disorder
Jean-Michel Azorin,Nicolas Simon +1 more
TL;DR: Aripiprazole and cariprazine are efficacious and generally well tolerated agents that have shown cost effectiveness, and may therefore enrich the therapeutic armamentarium for bipolar illness.
Journal ArticleDOI
Baseline severity and the prediction of placebo response in clinical trials for alcohol dependence: A meta-regression analysis to develop an enrichment strategy.
Bruno Scherrer,Julien Guiraud,Giovanni Addolorato,Henri-Jean Aubin,Henri-Jean Aubin,Andrea de Bejczy,Amine Benyamina,Wim van den Brink,Fabio Caputo,Maurice Dematteis,Anna E. Goudriaan,Anna E. Goudriaan,Antoni Gual,Falk Kiefer,Lorenzo Leggio,Otto-Michael Lesch,Icro Maremmani,David J. Nutt,François Paille,Pascal Perney,Roch Poulnais,Quentin Raffaillac,Jürgen Rehm,Benjamin Rolland,Nicolas Simon,Bo Söderpalm,Wolfgang H. Sommer,Henriette Walter,Rainer Spanagel +28 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors conducted a systematic literature review on placebo-controlled RCTs for alcohol dependence and found that the placebo response is lower in very heavy drinkers who show no "spontaneous improvement" prior to treatment initiation (high-severity population) than in a mild-versity population and in studies with longer treatment duration.
Journal ArticleDOI
Vancomycin: Predictive Performance of a Population Pharmacokinetic Model and Optimal Dose in Neonates and Young Infants.
TL;DR: Simulations have allowed the authors to describe new dosage schedules, and a chart was created to help clinicians to adapt dosage of vancomycin, and showed that the maintenance dose should be adjusted more precisely to each neonate based on his or her weight and serum creatinine value.
Journal ArticleDOI
Antipsychotic polypharmacy in schizophrenia: evolving evidence and rationale.
Jean-Michel Azorin,Nicolas Simon +1 more
TL;DR: There is now increasing evidence from both efficacy and effectiveness studies, that APP may be beneficial for some schizophrenia patients, and the most evidence seems to be for the combination of clozapine and aripiprazole.
Journal ArticleDOI
Time-of-day dependent pharmacodynamic and pharmacokinetic profiles of caffeine in rats
Anne-Laure Pelissier-Alicot,Elisabeth Schreiber-Deturmeny,Nicolas Simon,Manon Gantenbein,Bernard Bruguerolle +4 more
TL;DR: The results showed that morning administration of caffeine suppressed the daily rhythmicity of LA and modified the mesors and amplitudes of the HR and BT daily rhythms, while the evening administration did not suppress thedaily rhythm of LA, but altered the mesor, amplitudes and acrophases of the three rhythms, indicating a chronopharmacological effect.
